Default RESOLVED!! Reaper, WinXP/64, and Waves SSL

EDIT: Resolved!! I grabbed the vst adapter from my Sonar 5 installation, copied it to my flash drive, moved it over to my computer with Reaper and SONAR 6, which was not working properly with the waves plugs even in WinXP, copied over and ran the VST adapter from the local hard drive, and BAM!! IT WORKED!!!

So, after all that, all I was dealing with was a VST wrapper (adapter) issue.

Thanks Justin and Pipe!!

Hi,

I originally posted this in the bug report forum, but I'm thinking that this is a more appropriate place for it.

When I run Reaper on Win64 the "DX: VST SSL...MONO" versions of the waves SSL plugs are not available as they are when running the same setup under WinXP Pro (32-bit). Oddly, the stereo versions of the Waves SSL effects are available under the "DX" FX, but none of the Waves VST effects are available whatsoever when in Win64. They are avilable as both DX and VST effects and function perfectly in WinXP Pro and in Win64 using other applications.

I tried the Waves-shell splitter thing, but it did not do the trick.

Any workarounds or troublshooting tips? ...I have been known to miss configuration settings and such, so there's a very good possibility that *I* am the "bug" in this situation...

Make sure your VST path in REAPER is set properly on the x64 system, too?

They work in SONAR.

And they work in Reaper, as long as I'm running them on a computer with SONAR 5 installed. I just got my Sonar 6 installation media, so I removed Sonar 5 from that computer and installed SONAR 6, and NO GO!! One change that they made from 5 to 6 was getting rid of the vst wrapper and integrating it into the SONAR .exe itself, so now there is no vst wrapper.

What?! No external vst wrapper?

Let me see,

...no external vst wrapper, no waves ssl mono channels. DOH!!

I think that maybe the next step will be for me to find a vst wrapper so Reaper can access the mono plugs as a DX?

Sound about right?

OK. This is definitely more of a waves thing than a reaper thing, but I'll let you know what I find out.

Justin: Reaper kicks arse. Looks better than the "new" SONAR too! (...if I could just get that session drummer like functionality in Reaper, boy oh boy!)
