I used it a lot for a while too. Like it a lot.
For me, its main appeal compared to other distortions is the noise and fluctuation. I used it as a "lo-fi" thing (I know, I know...) and find that it's really good for that.
I'd dial it in pretty extreme then, noise floor at 9-10 bits, fluctuations dimed, saturation to taste. I'd put it on groups of accompanying instruments, keyboards and such, to create weird/different textures in those groups. I found the results interesting, but maybe not everyone's cup of tea.
For subtler duties I've gravitated towards other options. IVGI2 being my favorite.
Be advised, the fluctuations can do very unwieldy things to the low end if turned up. It benefits from some low freq compression after it IMO. ReaXComp with a very squishy low freq band, threshold right where the bass peaks without the fluctuations, should be a good start.
I doubt Kenny would put this on every track. Maybe track=song in that sentence? I can see it getting used on at least one thing in each tune.
