Default Youtube: how to crack reaper

I accidentally found this youtube video where a guy is showing how to download a keygen from his own website and how to apply it.

You really have to wonder about the mental capacity of the guy who sat down and said "Alright, I'm going to write a crack for Reaper."

You know, as if it serves any purpose.

I particularly like the real-time downloading and background TV.

I think there's an untapped market for a best-of collection of YouTube submissions that cluelessly reveal the wretched and banal lives of those who place them. TV in the background is a marker trait.

Hundreds...thousands are truly epic. I saw a classic of the type the other day, some inarticulate dork demoing a cheap stompbox while his fugly wife sits watching an offscreen blaring TV, stuffing her face with junkfood and shooting him these periodic sidelong "why did I ever marry you?" glances.

What a dork!

One thing that is a trifle worrying though is the "No need to crack REAPER, it's free like Audacity" responses.

I dunno, I just blundered into it and blundered out again.

By the time you've done ten referred YouTube links you're bound to get something like this. It's inevitable.

Then you miraculously find yourself in the "Saudi drifting accidents" category or something.

"Jonathan! JONATHAN!! Get off the internet!!! Are you looking at porn again?!!!"

"Go away MOM! I'll be right there just give me a sec fer chirstsakes!!!"

Sad......

It "cracks" me up knowing that these goons are wasting time writing cracks for an app that they can still use after it expires if one is really hurting and cant afford the $50.

I'm not so sure, but maybe I'm missing something.

I'm thinking if people get misinformed that Reap is free and don't want to register at www.douchebag for the crack, they may well download the real thing and find out it's not free, then they gots two choices.

If they don't buy a license they were never going to, if they decide they want to buy a license everything is fine. What did I miss?

SRSLY though, there's plenty of kids out there who have an IQ in the low 70s, who for some reason want to be a hacker, even though they lack the mental capacity to do anything worthwhile with it... I never understood those people... I've never checked into Reapers exact copy protection(nor did I watch the video), but I wouldn't be shocked if it was a matter of changing an XML attribute from "false" to "true" or something similar...

It's practice -- he's working up his skills set so he can eventually crack Cubase.

Most interesting thing to me in this was the accent, which I couldn't place. Living in the most ethnoculturally-diverse city in America (and therefore in the entire galaxy), I'm pretty good, but I couldn't place the diction. It's American TV...but maybe he's bagging that off FTA satellite in Guam or someplace.

how crazy.
as a ex software n puter systems developer for decades
(business software..not daws..)
i really feel for developers of daw software.
they spend zillions of hours and dedicate their lives to
their products. it must really irk them.

n i cant understand the motivation behind it.
why cant people instead try n put their energies into building their own usefull product rather than doing this kind of stuff.
or dedicate some time to helping out at an old folks home,
something usefull .

watch the accident at 2:08.....dear god.

the thing that made the comment so funny is that i've found myself clicking random linked youtube videos on the sidebar and eventually made it to the saudi drifting accidents thinking the same exact thing... "how the hell did i end up here?" lol.

The point is that these idiots do damage. I've seen people sell Adacity on ebay and the sad thing is that they even get away with it!

That shows how many people are disinformed, the generic saying that people that have internet know more is not true!

From what i can gather there is NO copy protefction in reaper aside from a nag screen that pops up now and agin( usually at the beginning of a session). however that is NO excuse for anyone to crack, or attmpt to crack reaper, the guys behind this product have been very generous with the work they put into it

Trace the guy and 'senda da boys!'

Wish I could do this hacking lark. I'd be like The Internet Avenger, tracking these shitheads down and then overclocking the life out of their CPUs.... wankers.

He clearly doesn't value his own time, since the cost of the program vs the time it took him to crack is probably not quite worth it.

People will crack anything, even free stuff!

Default For the benefit of superior beings...

Whilst I can understand the hostility against the Cracker (theft is theft!)and agree that banality is a common trait in the majority (all?) of YouTube content, I feel that it is ironic (and distasteful) that people can mock a person (and his wife FFs)but watch it anyway. Ask yourself who is the greater fool, the guy who posted the video or the elitist whom revels in mocking? "Fugly" for Christ sake, give your head a shake!

A number of posts in this thread reek of snobbery (typical digs at those less well off) and elitism, and that leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. What's worse is the fact that I have felt compelled to read this crap and waste my time commenting...
Why is this in the general discussion forum and not the lounge?

Okay, I am a 9th grade math teacher. I showed my students Reaper, and told them about Cocko's somewhat lax trialware status... and one of my kids says "heh, I'll find it on torrents..." I explained to him what a moronic statement it was.

After all these years you would have guessed that some idiots would have realized that "Cracking" Reaper is hilarious and stupid? but no , i think this virus has made some people even more thicker than in 2011 !

I asked a person if he could record some bass tracks for me, i was fortunate that he was using Reaper, but he got stuck and asked me how to do something, i asked for a screenshot, he sent me some, the license naming scheme wasn't right.
Anyway i asked him how much time he had been using Reaper and that i was a licensed Reaper user since 2008, he went on to tell me he could't afford a license so he found a cracked version online. When i told him that only idiots crack a software that need no crack he unfriended me lol!!!
