Default Reaper FXP file

I am creating FXP files (with JUCE) in my hosting plugin and i've found out that FXP files generated by Reaper (Export VST patch/bank file) are a bit different than mine. Looks like they are bigger, there is an additional "FPCh" chunk at the start of file, followed by FBCh. My FXP files contain only FBCh chunk.

I can use my FXP files for my internal saving/loading, but i can't use Reaper's FXP files nor i can use mine FXP files with Reaper. Any ideas what is that additional chunk about??

Any ideas?

So NOBODY has anything to say about this?

I thought FXPs were a standard, is this not the case? Can they only be loaded from the host that created them?

I'm only seeing one FBCh here.

Never heard of that before. What is a FXP file in this context?

What i've found out is that FXP/FXB is not really a standard - or let's say very open, not strict and badly documented, as many other things related to VST2. Many hosts customize it in its own way, adding additional content etc. So often you can not rely on it, when using files FXP/FXB files not created in your host.

Woah....

Man, that is truly lame!

Well, maybe I don't need to worry about loading fxps via action, and I should just work with reaper fx chain presets. You can load them via action, correct?

Thanks for the heads up....
