Default Use hardware effect with Repear

I know this question appeared on forum but I cannot apply it to my setup...

I am using Lexicon Lambda for sax recording.

The goal: I want to record sax track without any effect and then to use Hardware effect in Reaper...

Lambda has Inserts for XLRs. In my effect Yamaha EMP100 there are: 1 IN and 2 Outs (L-R)

Is it doable? If Yes, how I have to connect cables configure Reaper and proceed?

Thanks.
Michael.

Be a whole lot easier to just use some modern plug-in within reaper.
A 1990-released Yamaha hardware effects box is surely not doing anything you can't do better with modern plugin technology?
Plenty of free ones within reaper and available elsewhere if cost is an issue.

I have never done that, but you may try (and I don't know if this is the best way):
- add a new hardware-output of your audio device to the sax-track (io button)
- connect that hardware output to the input of youre effectdevice
- route the send of your hardwareeffect to a free hardware input of your interface
- add a new track that you will set to that input.

Hi,

According to your soundcard specs, supposedly having sends and returns I/O for an FX rack, you can:
set a send on your sax track to, say, track2,
setup a new hardware output to your SC on this track,
and create a third track that can record the analog input coming from your FX rack output.
So, you can can have the dry sound on your first track, the wet sound on your 3rd track, and mix them together.

could you please elaborate...
I just started to mess around with effects. Heck... it's hours now that I am sticking to FX button and window
So want to try the hardware option...

Found ReaInsert in VSTs...

Let's start from scratch...
1. I have sax track recorded.
2. I connect my Effect to Insert in my Lambda audio box. To be sure it works I check the mike... The effect works.

Should I now enable FX ReaInsert on my sax track and that is it?

Thx.

ReaInsert isn't that difficult to use, anyway, if you take care of what in & outs to use. But if you're not familiar with it, you can try the above setup i mentioned.

Personally i like it because you have a clear view of what you've done in the TCP (dry, send, return tracks) and you can easily set the amount of send/retrun FX you want directly from your console, if you have one, with the second & third slider.
