indeed thanks and, if you can find it in your hearts..

could you consider to "PIP my ride" a little with the linked request (sub PIPs inherit parent project settings). There's a few sound designers I work with now that would also love this slight update to PIPs as it really is the killer feature for sound designers!

I posted a while back about the "screen scrolling by itself bug", last here: http://forums.cockos.com/showpost.ph...5&postcount=79

Looks like that was fixed in the latest release, which is awesome, but a serious problem still remains. I haven't tried this pre (i will), but the bug was still present in 4.71.

Now, when I middle-button-hand-scroll in the arrange view it works as long as the mouse is moving. The first time the mouse is still (but the middle mouse button is still down) the view scrolls to the right (apparently at a constant rate?) of its own accord, and keeps doing so even if the mouse moves (it seems to apply a constant rightward movement that sums with the actual mouse movement.)

It's usable now, thankfully, since you can just make litle darting gestures with the button and 90% of the time it ends up where you want (as demonstrated in the licecap), but obviously it needs to be fixed...

As with the previous version of this bug, it may be necessary to have a reaper screen that spans more than one monitor. Didn't check.

See licecap:

Thanks!

It sounds like you too might benefit from newly created sub project pips inheriting their parent project's settings.

So you don't have to change them every newly created PIP

I think you are correct about a bug when stretched across two monitors...

it is still workable but there is something different when stretched like that...
There is indeed some tendency for the scroll to keep moving toward the left.

This does not happen when not stretched so it really is a bug and needs fixing!
Stretched or not the behavior should be the same.

As already reported for pre3(?), I'm getting massives wobbles in envelopes and crossfade points.

Please fix this, it looks terrible.

Thanks David.

Justin, can you see that the points in the middle of the cross fades are moving up and down as the mouse cursor passes over the volume envelope?
And yes, this is new to 4.72

It does the same thing for envelopes, but the entire line moves(as opposed to just the point in the cross fades).
When I'm in the studio today I'll take a licecap of an envelope exhibiting this behavior. It doesn't happen on command though, but certainly within a 12 hour day.

If it makes any difference, my desktop resolution is 2560*1440 (WQHD). (I've been using it for at least 3 months without issue.)

Default Bug

Hi Justin

I met a bug that is not found on v4.71. I see it on v4.72 pre1 and 5, so I assume something was broken on this pre cycle. In the MIDI Editor, whenever you fully zoom in, for example in the middle of two adjacent notes, one or both of them dissapear from view. The most annoying part is that on my work machine this repeatedly causes Reaper to crash. I couldn´t reproduce the crashes on my internet machine, but the visual bug is evident anyway.

I attach a project with a particularly problematic track. The original project - with +40 tracks - has a lot of tempo markers. Even though I copied this track to a blank project to post it here, it continues to crash Reaper once and again in my work setup (which is usually quite stable) :

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xgzlhnd5o...ZuBAhqes5-UNLa

Thanks in advance.

Can you also send your reaper.ini and whatever theme you are using (assuming it is non-standard)?

Edit: I've fixed the drawing issue, but I couldn't duplicate the crash. Gimme a crash report!

Glad you found it, Justin.

Bigger problem: When I unfreeze the VSTi track in the project below, the MIDI item is not restored. i.e. If I didn't keep meticulous backups, I'd be screwed.

Thanks, Justin.

(Attached project is stripped to only contain the problematic track.)

Oh geez, the VSTi and multiple plugins I had are gone, too.
Maybe something to do with inserting more plugins after a freeze?

I had 1000 crashes with this project yesterday alone (x86/memory related), so perhaps I pushed save after one of the 'out of memory' warnings came up. Maybe that caused REAPER to junk that data?
I know that the undo window size and position gets reset when REAPER runs out of memory.

Notes about the project:
119 tracks
103 sends
Probably 20 folder tracks
Uses 1+2, 3+4 & 5+6 busses (for sends)

Ahh, perhaps I misunderstood you, Justin.
Have you fixed the wiggly envelopes and crossfades I reported, or do you still need my REAPER.INI & custom theme?
