Converting single recording to two takes?

It seems as though this should be really easy, but I cannot work out how to do it (or the correct google terms to learn how to do it...).

I have a single track, that I have split in the middle between two recordings of the same song (the whole session was recorded at once), and want to convert this to two takes. How do I do this?

Try to select both items and then do "Implode to new takes" (or something similar)

Right click on one of the selected items, then:

Take > Implode items on same track into takes
