Default Burzukh - Last Shot / Bye

EDIT : New mix done based on some of the quite helpful comments above. Reverb, space, levels and some vocal editing

-----------------------------------------------

First completed song with vox in a while. Written in a haze while watching my life crashing down ...good times...the mix is a rough working draft....

at around 2:45 the track finally gives in goes in for the buchanan/helmet/thurston moore style meltdown it hints at earlier on.

LYRICS

the last shot
final nail hammered
vows now left to rot
in the dark that i brought

i dont want it to end this way
and dont want to mend my ways
there are no more options now
let us clasp our hands and prey

is this thing even on
what the hell is wrong
drifting away into despair
its bleeding in the song

UPDATED version

Cool, too bad the inspiration for it is sad though. Maybe I would narrow the toms panning a bit to the inside of the wide gtrs, as they get masked as the combo rolls go wide.

I might also eq the toms with slightly more treble, they work good in this track, reminds me of Sabbaths Planet Caravan use of congas. Good job, plenty of atmosphere. Sorry to hear you're doing it a bit tough atm Suli, at least you're still young though, time's on your side mate, cheers.

Cheers mate!

Thing is, its three layers

So theres a rock drumkit, a set of arabic darbouka, and a layer of crazy industrial / glitch here and there to keep things intersted..... I think u mean reduce the pan range on the glitches.

Im doin alrite, contemplatin loss of family n job over some quality scotch and the sticky ikky

The mix sounds extremely dry to me. I'd throw in a lot more ambience/reverb.
The drums and percussions sound buried under everything else, I would have cranked them up some more.
This shouldn't be easy to mix, there's a lot going on and the arrangement is pretty complex, too.
Noise guitar is my cup of tea so I liked that.

I hope things turn out for the better for you.

I don't mind the 'dryness' too much, but I agree with NT on most his other points. As is, everything sounds crowded without much breathing room--yes, even for a song of this style. The song itself is cool as hell, though.

thanks for the feedback guys...

first of all im completely redoing the vocals from scracth and also remixing the thing from scratch...trying to address the breathing space / clutter issue as well as the percussive mix

and thanks for the wishes as well

rok on
