Default batch file/Item converter - "DELETE ORIGINAL FILE AFTER CONVERSION" feature.

That is:

I use a lot the "batch file/Item converter" feature. Really lot.

In my opinion is strongly needed a feature to "DELETE ORIGINAL FILE AFTER CONVERSION".

Some one think the same?

Cheers.

There are some SWS actions available for deleting source files. If you do this a lot, make a custom action to convert and then delete the original.

FYI, Reaper's non-destructive mantra means there will never be a native feature written that deletes anything.

Thank for the time and the answer Serr, but I think that Actions are not applicable inside of the Batch File/Item Converter Dialog. Even more if you are converting files that has nothing to do with any project. I mean using the Batch File/Item Converter feature as a converter tool no more. Just to catch some files from a folder to convert it.

Cheers.

Opening the Batch File/Item Converter IS an action! You can simply write a macro (called a custom action) of multiple actions to do exactly what you want right now.

You will want to install the SWS actions. That's where you will find the various delete actions.
Automating the whole thing into one keypress might be complex but you could use the sws delete action to delete all the (still) selected items after the batch convert. That would at least be one keypress.

Not to dismiss you request which is a fine idea. Just offering an idea.

Serr, I know pretty well how "custom actions" and " SWS custom actions" works. I use them a lot.
And I know too, that there is an action to open the "Batch file/item converter" feature. That is not the issue. The difficult step is to delete the file that was converted (the original one) after conversion in order to keep alone the converted file and to discard the original.

I think there is no an "action" or "SWS action" to delete a file in a windows folder after conversion with the file converter feature of reaper.

If you think yes, please tell what is.

After that, I continue thinking is strongly needed a feature to "DELETE ORIGINAL FILE AFTER CONVERSION" in the "Batch file/item converter" feature.

Some one think the same?

Cheers.
