Default EZ Drummer - Render to Audio?

I recorded a song tonight and used MIDI drums from EZ Drummer. I allowed it to create the individual tracks for the drums and routed them inside of EZ Drummer. How do I now render those tracks to audio so I can dump EZ Drummer and work with the real audio instead of midi?

Thanks.

If I understand your question correctly, you can right click "Apply track/take fx items as new take", and choose mono or stereo.

I'd take just the EZ Drummer track and freeze it Multichannel.

I tried that but it did not actually create wav files in the corresponding tracks. Am I missing a step somewhere? My ultimate goal is to be able to remove EZ Drummer from the project and work with audio only, no midi.

Thanks

it should make one 32-channel wave file and keep the routing to the individual tracks intact. You can unfreeze if you want to change the MIDI.

If you are keeping the drum tracks within the session it's the post efficient way to do it.

But how do I get actual audio rendered to it's corresponding track? I guess what I am looking for is to completely remove EZD2 from the project and have traditional audio, as if I had recorded a live drummer.

Sorry if my wording is not correct, guess I'm not quite sure how to ask for what I am looking to do.

I've done this before, but can't seem to get it now.

Select all the audio send tracks and freeze them, then you can delete the EZDrummer midi track.

On receiving tracks bypass all fx and reset volumes to unity.

Set record mode to output

record arm drum tracks. record.

Ahhhh...I think that's what I was looking for. This way, it records in real time and avoids any glitches from fast rendering.

I'll try this when I get home, thank you.

I have never had a glitch from offline rendering.

Does this happen often to you?

Not really, unless you're using some time based effects, which is VERY unlikely with drums. Sometimes I'll get some artifacts on other things if I render fast with a delay or reverb.

Weird. I've have never encountered that. The only problem I've ever had is reverb or delay tails being cut-off prematurely, but never an error in rendering.

I've heard people say they've had troubles with MIDI and offline renders, but I've never experienced it myself. One problem with recording the output is that unless you change the record settings, you'll likely be losing resolution right off the bat.

I'm pretty sure that just plain rendering those individual tracks as stems works just fine. You can do it by right click or using the render dialog, but you should be going for a floating point file whatever you do.

Paul from Reaper TV on YouTube had a video on exactly how to do this. It was called 'Advanced EZDrummer & Reaper - Set up as a Real Kit' I have it bookmarked but now the video is 'no longer available'

How about it Paul?

Just wanted to follow up. Looks like the magic bullet was selecting each of the routed tracks and NOT the EZ Drummer 2 track, and selecting Freeze

thanks for walking with me through this.
