I can't do it! PayPal is limited my country (and many others) for such operations

I feel your pain, Nick - it's the same for Croatia, and is also a reason why I can't sell some of my simpler Kontakt scripts for a few dollars each...

I'm not disappointed, because in this case (I mean for sale) I use Share-it and it's good! Maybe you should try it too?

Eh, Paypal is more widely acclaimed and many more users use it - especially in the area that I'm working.

nick, this is a great theme, congratulations

Two minor criticisms:

1) The default volume faders are a bit on the wide side. They look good when the mixer is very tall, but not very comfortable in a default layout in a standard laptop screen resolution.

2) The MIDI editor buttons (transport) could be a little bigger (the symbols inside the buttons to be precise). And less 'glossiness' on the start/end buttons.

Just my nitpicks... thank you!

1. Will think about it, but not soon
2. Impossible (REAPER is limits the sizes of these buttons). I made them big as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I am not talking about the size of the button, but the size of the symbols inside the buttons. For example, the play symbol (a triangle) is nice big and clear in the main transport, but rather small in the MIDI Editor button. In other words, there is a lot of empty space in the button which allows for larger symbols.

As I said, these are nitpicks. Just wanted to express them in case other users agreed with me or not.

I love your theme and it will likely be my default, thanks!

Yes it does Nick - I notice when floating the transport and playing with resizing it, it automatically turns from a 2 line display to a single line display at slightly wider than my laptops 1280 pixel width.

ie when the floating transport is sized at 1280 width its still a 2 line display that doesn't have the song position readout on the top line, so you cant see it when the transport is docked in the default default position below the arrange page.

Hopefully that information helps

Cheers

OK! I understood! Will create an alternative transport panel layout for such resolutions...

tis is real nice, I have to say though that the folder icon display for me, really doesn;t work. It's really difficult to tell if tracks are in folders the way they are currently displayed.

here is default, and it's perfect for displaying folders

I don;t know if that's something you can\want to change, though to me it would be an improvement

Not to be overly demanding, but personally I think all the MCP layouts should have a really clear folder display. A layout for folders is a nice thought (and easier to implement I'm sure) though all those other GREAT MCP layouts would still be lacking in clear folder display, which would be a shame, because they are really nice.

Again, I'm not out to be overly demanding, and you'll do what is best, though obvious folder display in all the MCP layouts imho would be the ultimate - all those beautiful layouts, I will never use most likey, though I am a folder fiend

btw, I tried using this layout for the TCP i really like

though I couldn't quite get it working in RADO too well (not too good with Walter)

anyway, if you feel like throwing in a RAdo-ized version, since there's still free TCP slots, here's the code
(i realize there's a minimal layout, though the track names get hidden when the width is decreased, which this layout here is more about just diplaying the name, and no controls whatsoever)

Layout A-Blank
clear tcp.*
set tcp.size [37 85]
set tcp.label w>1 [1 0 18 85 1 0 1 1]
set tcp.label h<65 [1 0 60 35 0 0 0 0]
set tcp.label.margin [2 0 0 0]
set tcp.trackidx [19 33 20 18 1 0.5 1 0.5]
set tcp.trackidx.margin [0 0 0 0 0.5]
set tcp.trackidx.color ?recarm [153 52 54] [35 38 38]
clear envcp.*
set envcp.size [0 85]
EndLayout

For what its worth..

I opened this up on a Mac using Reaper 64 v4.0a41a

It all looked great except in Alt pan layout the words for the pan knob get cut off when you use it(anything but "center").

I don't use Apple computers usually so I don't care TOO much. But at work we have one that I do processing on for bands... and it looks a little weird.

I'll try to get a screen shot up tonight when I'm there for the show.

As a new user of 3 months, I'd like to say thank you for this theme. This is the first time I've truly felt comfortable using Reaper. Maybe I'm finally starting to "get it", but today I got some work done, instead of "tweaking" stuff.

Default Problems in tcp and mcp labels.... resolved

Dear Nick,

I have resolve the problem with the tinted track labels in tcp (pictures 1 and 2)and mcp (pictures 3 and 4).

In order to apply these changes in the RADO theme, you have to change the parameters of the "set mcp.label" command, in the rtconfig.txt file, to the following :

set mcp.label h<20000 [5 382 70 18 0 1 0 1]

and replace the original mcp_namebg.png and tcp_nambg.png by the one attached.

Enjoy !!!!

Thanks again, Nick! It was a total joy to work on a project using your theme. I guess, this is the first interface in reaper that makes me wants me to leave FL studio as my primary tool. :P oh yea, There are a few bugs to iron out. will post details tomorrow!

Thanks again!

Thank you Nick. It was my first try to deal with Walter, and that was a good exercise.

I also change other lines in the rtconfig.txt file, due to the previous changes, I found that the track label and the track number were overlaping. So I changeed every occurence of this line (within each layout definition) :

set mcp.trackidx [5 368 35 18 0 1 0 1] (image 1)

by this one :

set mcp.trackidx [5 366 35 18 0 1 0 1] (image 2)

now, everything's fine.See rtconfig.txt attached

One more time, you made a BIG job. Thanks

Best Regards !!!!

Well RADO certainly eases some of the pain for me. I did another mix in the alpha and the graphics were much easier to work with. I do still feel there's not enough contrast in the send amount color differences and I have to lean WAY in (in most themes) to see the little notch on the send dial. I also wouldn't object to a modified version of RADO with skinnier fader caps.

Great theme though. Here's a screenie of the mix session and the mp3 rough mix. I also did a (private link) YouTube vid of the mix but it's not up yet.

MP3: Seed by Snowflake (no bass track yet)
Screenie (1680x1050): Mix Snapshot

P.S. I kinda wonder why, as relates to the lameenc.dll, Reaper couldn't just point to the same single instance somewhere rather than having to copy it to every install directory to render mp3. I also don't particularly like all mixer meters being "dual", even for mono tracks. When you mix in the full mixer it's really hard to know which tracks are being fed by stereo audio tracks. A mono meter is pretty typical for mono audio tracks.

The encoder has to reside where the reaper.exe file is, that's just the way it works I guess.

Looking fantastic! Any chance of a TCP layout with a pan slider instead of knob?

Any chance for a "skinny fader cap" alternate version? I think trimming the fader cap width by 25% or so would be perfect. Being greedy I know , but this is such a great theme.

Thanks for all of your hard work Nick.

Been using RADO V3 for a few months. My main complaint was the brownish track color layout. Made it hard to locate tracks. Like a dummy I didn't realize with the preference settings you posted I could now group tracks by colors. Now I just select a group of tracks, hit CTRL+C, and all selected tracks are assigned the same random color with a very pleasing layout. Makes it SO much easier to organize and navigate groups of instruments. A very pleasant "DUH!" moment for me. Feel like a kid in a candy store now!

My good man, you do wonderful work! Thank you once again for your efforts. Feel very lucky to be able to "reap" the fruits of your contribution to the Reaper community.

Regards,

DB
