Default Pasting Into An Exisiting Track

Hello,

Is there a way to copy a MIDI track in a score then paste it into an existing empty track?

Whenever I try to paste into an existing empty track, Reaper creates a new track instead of pasting into the existing track.

Thanks

You cannot paste a copied track into another track, a new track will be created for the copy. But you can paste the contents of any track into any (other) track. So you would have to copy the MIDI item which has your score and paste that.

Hello xpander,

Thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated.

With apologies, that 's what I meant really, how to copy the content of a MIDI track in a score and then paste it into another track.

I can only find how to copy and paste a track.

Thanks.

the copy is set up as a smart copy in that it copies what ever was last in focus. So you'd need to click or marquee select the items before doing the copy.

There are dedicated actions in the action list that only copy certain elements. You might want to check that you didn't accidentally assign your copy keystroke to one of them.
