Default Help with signal routing please

Hello,
I just inherited a Behringer Xenyx X1832USB mixer, which is quite frankly much larger and more complicated than I need, but since it was free, I would like to make use of it.

Right now, I would like to be able to route the following:

Digital Keyboard -> Midi -> Scarlett 18i6 -> USB -> Reaper -> Line Out -> X1832 -> Monitor;

I'm not really sure how to handle the various millions of aux ins and outs on the large mixer, anyone have some thoughts on this (presumably) basic-level routing? Basically, looking to get the audio from my Scarlett into my Behringer, after the midi has already passed into the Scarlett and daw.

(BTW, the reason I'm adding the extra step of the mixer is because I have a fully-mic'ed drumkit as well and want to have all of that coming through the mixer at the end, but don't want them going into the DAW for recording)

Did you already have a look a the Xenyx Quick Start Guide and Manual? https://www.music-group.com/Categori...0A0K/downloads

I don't know the Xenyx, but basically you would connect an output-pair from the Scarlett to inputs on the Xenyx (for instance to stereo LINE IN 7/8)
Then in Reaper set up and use this Scarlett Output, for instance, as Hardware output for the Master Track (or add it as additional Hardware Output) ...

I unfortunately wasn't given the manual w/ the mixer, thanks for those links!

When I use the signal chain as described in my original post, no matter which inputs I put through the Behringer, no piano sounds come through. I'm assuming this has something to do with the Reaper in-software routing, such as where you mention:

"or add it as additional Hardware Output"

And that is something I'm unfamiliar with - is this something that is handled on the master track's routing, or is this some sort of global software preference?

Yes, I'm talking about the Hardware Outputs which are set up in the Routing or I/O panel of the Master Track, as you can see here (starting at around 2:44): www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCoxSmr-2VU

If you haven't already, you might also try to test it this way:

1) First check if monitoring the output from the Scarlett directly works: Digital Keyboard -> Midi -> Scarlett 18i6 -> USB -> Reaper -> Line Out -> Monitor
This way you'll know that the audio routing in Reaper from the Keyboard to the Scarlett output is working.

2) Then add the Xenyx into the signal chain (using the same Scarlett output): Digital Keyboard -> Midi -> Scarlett 18i6 -> USB -> Reaper -> Line Out -> X1832 -> Monitor
If this doesn't work out of the box, it's most likely a setting on the Xenyx ...
