Default Tape Stop Help!

Hola!

After much searching of the internet, I have yet to find a decent tutorial on how to use a tape stop effect on INDIVIDUAL tracks using automation using, say, dblue's Glitch. I don't care which VST, as long as I can automate it on individual tracks.

Thanks,
Michael

Well can't you use glitch on an individual track and automate the on/off or dry/wet parameters?

I believe dblue made a VST called Tapestop that would be even easier than Glitch. Just put it on the track, set your speed and automate the trigger. Very simple.

So I tried dblue's tapestop effect, but it is causing REAPER to like freeze up. And I can't figure out how to make it work. I want to be able to create the tapestop via automation and I want it to work regardless of bars (I don't want it to work like Glitch's sequencer). Thank you all for your responses!

EDIT: Okay ngarjuna, I love dblue's Tape Stop effect! However, it is still like overloading something, because whenever I have it active (unbypassed) it will make my audio freeze, and during playback REAPER lags something awful. Wondering if there is a fix for this, or if I'm stuck with it :/

Hmm sorry, not sure about that, haven't experienced those behaviors on my machine (although to be honest it has been a while since I used it).

NOOOO!!! It's the best plugin for the tape stop effect! I tried all the other ones, and none of them work as well as dblue's. This is dreadful news

Can anyone point me towards a decent, WORKING tape stop plugin, and tell me which parameters to automate?

Thanks!

Gah! I've tried this too. Its great, sounds awesome, and works like a charm. But I had a heck of a time trying to automate it! :/

JRR Shop has ILs grossbeat on offer at the moment, that plugin is designed specifically for automating this sort of thing

Have y'all ever copied your track, applied 100% wet echo, then just 'cut tape' to replicate the tape stop effect? That's what I'd been doing for some time, long before I ever heard of a plug in that did that.

Just a thought.

I would prefer a VST where I could just write in some automation, and be done with it. But I'll give that method a try
