Default Media Preview tempo matching problem

Hi all,

Previewing media with "Tempo match on" works fine in all cases, EXCEPT when "Start on bar" is chacked AND project is playing. In this case there are hickups on the previewed media audio, sometimes appearing the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th time the media loops.

Can anyone confirm this? A short audio loop should be enough. On my system, it happens consistently, even on empty projects.

WIN7(x64)-Reaper v4.721(x64)

Thanks,
Dimitris

Hey,

Got another weird result...

When previewing with "Tempo match On" and clicking somewhere in the media graph the audio skips to wrong starting point, while the playback cursor (I mean the line that moves along the wave graph) is correct. The result is that the cursor and the audio arrive at the end at different times. If you set the preview to loop it gets easier to hear that the audio is off.

Note that this happens even without checking "Start on bar" and while project is stopped.

Anyone?

Thanks,
D.

Bump

Can someone verify the existence of this problem?

Thanks,
D.

Yeah, there's something wrong with previewing a media file and 'tempo match on'.

For testing i have a project with a bpm of 120 and i'm previewing a media file with a bpm of 154.

When clicking the media graph to play it back from a specific point, just a few seconds/beats before the end, cursor movement gets very slow and there's no sound any more.

Have to test the other things you've mentioned, but it's save to say that something is not correct with the media file preview.

Edit: What helps here is to unload the media and reload it....

Thanks Witti.

So far I haven't seen any problems with the cursor speed, like you did. For me the cursor seems to be correct while the audio staggers.

Anybody else that have experienced tempo match related problems?

Thanks,
D.
