Default RX2 Drum Files Will Not Load or Play

I tested my main studio computer again and confirmed that rx2 drum files still won't load in Reaper 5.40
I'm running Win 8.1 - HP desktop 12 GIGS Ram i7
Motherboard: http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c03885123

My DELL i5 Laptop running Win 8.1 loads the RX2 files & plays them fine.

I also have an older version of Reaper 32 bit installed on my main studio computer and it will load and play the rx2 files.

If anyone has a similar system to mine, I can send you some rx2 files to test.
I'd really like to start using these rx2 along with the waves because the rx2 are far more versatile.
Send me a private message if you would like me to send some rx2 to test.

I'd be surprised if this had anything to do with the hardware. Are you running the exact same version of REAPER on both computers?

Yes - running 64 bit version 5.40 on both studio desktop & laptop.
Dell Laptop i5 will play them fine.
I also have 32 bit older version running on studio desktop. v 4.77 I believe for opening the Roland VS files. This version will load & play the rx2 files as well?

Weird.

Care to post one of the files here, or email to support at cockos?

Thanks for posting the files. Both load fine here in REAPER 5.40, both 32-bit and 64-bit. Have you tried simply reinstalling REAPER on the computer that won't load them?

I'm back in business!
I did something different. I did a portable install to my C drive.
The rx2 are working now.
I'll use it this way and see how it works out.
I haven't check all plugins yet. I install the sws extensions.

Thanks
Eric
