Default Version 4, offline media

Is anyone else experiencing this...when loading my projects created using the latest version up to version 4.02 into the new version 4, the wav files are taking a LOT longer to load up, they remain 'offline' for minutes..sometimes they do not load up at all and I have to close and re-open. Sometimes clicking about with 'play', 'solo' etc etc seems to wake things up and get them to load but not every time.

I have not changed my set up with reaper version 3 the files would load almost immediately

Reaper version 4
window xp
Edirol UA-25EX interface with latest drivers

Thanks

Nope, not seeing that here (W7x64 Reaper v4.02 x86), but there's this other guy here http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=88579 having problems with off-line media. Maybe the same thing...

Yes, same here. I posted this in another thread, will repost here:

Some times on opening an old project the media remains in "offline" mode and wont play back. I'm using ASIO4ALL and no other WDM audio devices are opened. If
I close and re-open the project, usually the media will appear online again, and everything plays as normal.

I suspect this has something to do with a window or application retaining focus and Reaper releasing the drivers when in the background, thus the media remains in offline mode. I've noticed some funky behavior from Reaper v4, Windows 7 and icon notifications constantly releasing/resetting the ASIO4ALL driver every time I adjust a window...

Default offline online

You exactly described my experience. No system changes (XP on HP laptop), but only upgrade to Reaper 4. And the offline stuff is slow, quirky. I have gotten in the habit of going to the command in ITEM menu to PUT all media online, and then boom there they are.

Maybe something to do with having used Wavosaur???

Yep
Item / Media / Set all media online

That works for me

Lets hope someone suggests an automatic solution or answer to this query.
