Default DMG Installers (Off-thread but useful to know)

Hi,

I know it is not strictly WDL related, but I would like to know if anyone can help me about this.

I would like to create a .dmg image file containing audio plugins in au, vst, vst3 formats. I already know how to make a .dmg using Disk Utility app.

Is it possible to make a .dmg file image using Disk Utility that, when the end user clicks/mounts it, it AUTOMATICALLY copies each of the .component, .vst3, ... files directly into the proper folders:

audio units = ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
vst3 = ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
etc...

How to specify the destination folders ?

Thank you in advance,

Disk image file (.dmg) are just that. I'm pretty sure there's no way to automatically run a script. Maybe you're used to autorun kinds of action with Windows? This would be most unexpected for a Mac user, a really bad idea even if you could do it.

If you have multiple plugin formats to install, build an installer with pkgbuild and productbuild. It's not that hard, and you can automate it in your build process. You'll have to sign it, if you don't want the warning when you launch it.
