Soundtoys panman error: "sountoys panman, version 5.2.0 problem creating user folder

whenever i try to export a track (mp3, wav, whatever) that has panman on multiple tracks im getting an error: soundtoys panman version 5.2.0 problem creating user folder.
Then reaper crashes. Only with this specific instance. I think i was using my trial plugin first, but then upgraded to full and even replaced the plugin with the full version. And am getting this error. Any ideas?
