Default Sticky one, Ownership

I wondered is there anyone out there that knows legal stuff? New Zealand-Australia if possible.
I designed an audio studio, i.e. I collated all the info which included internal dimensions and hardware instructions etc drew a set of not so fine but legible one dimensional drawings then gave them to an architect to draw up a set of plans and get the standards for a building consent.
I wondered who owns the plans and can I re-sell in the future?
I say that because it can be prohibitive to get this sought of thing drawn up.
I went out on a limb because I just can not think of doing anything else but invent music and I am toward the upper limit on life and I know how costs rise when you build things like this at a younger time in life. Being able to sell the plans at a kind rate later or give them away would benefit others.
I will see if the studio works well in a few months!

You need to speak to the architect about this and he must give you a release form for the copyright to the plans.

As he is legally responsable for the design and can be brought to justice for malpraxis, he also own the intellectual property for them. This also protect him from making a project and someone else selling it, thus profiting from his work.

Considering that you made the research just speak to him about this so that he can give you the right (legally speaking) to sell them or publish them.

You should have discussed this in the contract.

Good luck!
