Default a weak attempt at classical

This is still in progress but does it sound classical? I think the horns
sound alittle flaccid but the trumpet is the wivi demo and you only get
like a three note range. The flutes are from the 8x1 sampler deal but they
are leaving weird artifacts. The piano is quirky and why do I only post
when drinking at 5:00 am?

Is your basis for these sounds the Miroslav library or something like that? The feeling of "space" is really good so I assume it comes from the samples directly, not from your skillfull convolution reverb skills?

Classical music is not my strongest area, but for me this was close to creating an illusion of a real orchestra playing. The weak points in this illusion were around 1:00 (one minute - the new stuff that arrived here was somehow artificial) and around 3:00 (something strange here, in the strings? not sure if it is the way they are played or the sounds).
This would surely work as a movie music or like.

You use classical instruments, but this is film or experimental music.

from WIKI:

[...] This taste for structural clarity worked its way into the world of music, moving away from the layered polyphony of the Baroque period, towards a style where a melody over a subordinate harmony — a combination called homophony — was preferred. [2] This meant that the playing of chords, even if they interrupted the melodic smoothness of a single part, became a much more prevalent feature of music. This, in turn, made the tonal structure of works more audible.

Since polyphonic texture was no longer the main focus of music (excluding the development section) but rather a single melodic line with accompaniment, there was greater emphasis on notating that line for dynamics and phrasing. The simplification of texture made such instrumental detail more important, and also made the use of characteristic rhythms, such as attention-getting opening fanfares, the funeral march rhythm, or the minuet genre, more important in establishing and unifying the tone of a single movement.

Periods of European art music

Medieval (500–1400)
Renaissance (1400–1600)
Baroque (1600–1760)

Baroque (1600–1760)
Classical (1730–1820)
Romantic (1815–1910)

Contemporary (1975–present)
21st-century (2000–present)

Nice, I like it.

I don't have too much problem with the samples/triggering you're using.

The horns are the most noticeably artificial. For me it's the attack, the sounds begin like a synth without velocity sensitivity, just note on and it's there.

I don't know where to get started fixing that really. Maybe try and tweak the velocity on the attack of the horn notes?

Listen to some real horns, even on the softest-cool-mellow Miles Davis lick there is a bit of an attack. The player has to get the air moving in the horn initially I guess.
