Deep Purple
Deep Purple is a new flat theme inspired by Default Analog and the flat GUI's of Valhalla and Fabfilter plugins. Emphasis is on clarity, flexibility, consistency, and usability. There are dark, medium, and light versions, each with 14 MCP layouts, 8 TCP layouts, two MCP and TCP masters, and two transports. Each of these layouts is available in Black, Silver, and Classic flavors. There are mouseover effects whenever possible to increase visual feedback, and these are consistent throughout the theme - among main toolbar, user toolbars, effects, mixer sends, etc.
Of course, I want to give all credit due to White Tie, Lerian, and anyone else who may have contributed. Almost all of the PNGs and much of the WALTER are new but lots of their work is under the hood.

Wow, you've done a great job Swamp Ape! I really like it although it is still too dark for me (old guy=old eyes....). So I still hope that you will find some time to develop the blue theme you've mentioned earlier!

Yep, still too dark for me. I find the default theme rather dull and your purple theme is WAY MORE beautiful to look, but the default for me is better to watch and that's still what it is all about....

Since I never use light themes I'm certainly open to suggestions on how to improve it. I might be able to tweak it some - I definitely want it to be usable for everyone.

I'm not seeing the info at the bottom of the TCP like other themes. I can right-click and choose what I want to see, but it's blank in the Purple theme. Have you noticed this? The first screenshot is from my modified Default Analog theme. The second is the same project, but I switched to the Purple theme. This is a very useful little area for me, at least. Will you be able to check into it and see what's going on there? Thanks!

Oh yeah, I did that on purpose but it's easy to fix. Go into the preferences->theme editor, and it's the second thing, "Main window/transport text". Just change the RGB from 40's to 180 or something close (then remember to save it). I changed it to get rid of that little white line above the text, which was driving me nuts.
Thanks for pointing that out - it's one of those things that I never use, so I forget other people do.

Thank you! I can't make it without that! I messed around with the colors on that, and that white line won't go away! I'm fortunate it doesn't bother me at all. Thanks again.

I've made some minor corrections to the Dark variant, including cleaner pan knobs, clearer scrollbars, some minor layout bugs, and some further optimization. This means I can pack the purple icons with it! So there is no need to download the separate icon pack. (I also cleaned up some icons) Please try it everyone, and let me know if everything works.
I will update the Silver and Bright themes accordingly ASAP. Also the Deep Blue variants are almost ready for beta, once I get a couple of weird issues sorted.

Big fan of this theme, and many thanks for your work here. Glad the toolbar buttons are bundled now -- and love the shading on mouse-over toolbar buttons! Small thing: in stereo pan mode, the text over the width text reads "double click to set to 100%" width, but double clicking actually puts it to 0%. Top 5 theme for me.

You could have expected that to come. Also I am sure you will get requests for red, brown, black, pink, yellow and further all other colors in the rainbow.
That's your own fault when you create such a great looking theme! ;-)

New "Long Name" TCP layout coming in next update:
Thanks to Breeder for letting me adapt his elegant WALTER.
I'm trying to work out a default TCP that mimics APOLLO
but it needs quite a bit of tweaking. My WALTER is still crude and caveman-like. The blue themes will be updated too.

Maybe you can make an update which uses the theme settings in the Reaper preferences for the colours?

Track Colors
Hello, When I switch to this theme, my track colors are don't change. How do I get the cool gradient track colors?
Thanks

You have to have the SWS extensions installed. The function in the color area called "set selected tracks to color gradient." There's no way to do it automatically, sadly.

hi there,
I love the deep blue theme.
A noob question as I've never used the colour options in Reaper. When you say:
"The function in the color area called "set selected tracks to color gradient." There's no way to do it automatically, sadly."
Does it mean that I need to create a custom action and assign an icon to it? Then, do I need to manually click it in order for the track to get a new colour? Sorry for a dumb question.
