Default MacBook Pro - Reaper freezing continuously

Just wanted to edit some session on MacBook Pro. Quite simple one. Every 1-2 min with any simple action (placing cursor somewhere, selecting etc.) , there is suddenly the rainbow circle and for 15-20 sec. frozen and then again and again. Quite desperate it is. I of course restarted Reaper, restarted computer, even reinstalled Reaper, then it worked ok for some time and now again the same behaviour.

I have no other programme going on. The latest MBP 2016 with the latest update and latest Reaper. What is going on, I don't know.

Are you saying there is no repeatable pattern? Just doing anything with Reaper open and there are constant unexpected waits for some hardware?

Does this only happen with Reaper? Running any other app is fine?

What audio interface are you running? Built-in? An external unit? Both?

And this happens with a project that has no plugins?

Make sure all your media is loaded from internal drives. Also check memory usage in activity monitor and in Reaper's performance window. Then try to disable plugins. Hope this helps.

All internal media, no other programme running ... I am afraid it may be Antares Auto tune causing the troubles ...

Autotune is a frequent troublemaker. If you can not do without it, try freezing the tracks where you need it.
