How to add an effect to just one word in a vocal line?
I am thinking copy the word on the second track with the effect for just the one word. Can a send be automated to another track? I could then just send the one word to the second track or am I missing an better/easier way?
Basically I want a normal vocal line with one word in the middle echoing

You could insert the delay onto the dry vocal track itself - then add a wet/dry or volume envelope to suit...

You could do it via envelope, but here you can not really control it.
If you want the pro way then you should have the word cut out from the original track, paste it into a new track with the same routing (of course with small fade ins and fade outs), then apply the effect to this track or item solely.

I believe you can split just that word on the track so its like a seperate take and apply the fx to just that take.
Split it
highlight it
right click on it
Take / show fx chain /
then add what you want

Not silly
there are probably a good few ways to do it, whatever you are most comfortable, but I do it my way ...
I have put the split part on a new track in the past but can't think why now.
I guess there could be more control and especially if you wanted to add more than an effect.

Awesome...I like the take idea so there is no need for extra track clutter.
I am not always happy with the wet/dry effect idea as sometimes you get clicks or pops with instant dry to wet.
Love this software, love this forum. Thanks Guys
