My Send FX quit! Everything is set up, but no audio (NO BUG)
Can't figure it out.
I use sends all the time, as well as sidechains, etc, complex stuff...
My sidechains in this project ARE working, but my verbs / delays are not!
So frustrating. Reaper is brilliant, except when it's not. almost reminds me of series of support emails with Steinberg... !!!!!
Can someone take a look at this file?
My fx are 90-93, I added a CSR hall on 94 and it DOES work...My other verbs are NI, and I use them all the time with no trouble.
I know the audio isnt' in the file, try adding your own (or a noise gen) to test?
Thanks so much!

you didn't link a project file, but usually when this happens it's because reaper has detected a feedback loop. you can try allowing feedback routing in project prefs at the expense of pdc. or delete the receiving tracks and recreate them. i've had to do that before for some unknown reason, but then it usually works again.

oh yes, the essential information:
win 7 64bit, q9450, etc.
first noticed while using Reaper 5, then found my download to 5.04 and installed that, no change.

oh yes!
project file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1xn198p95...rings.RPP?dl=0
that would make sense; I noticed reaper cuts channels (with a nice visual !) that are majorly clipping.
However, all I see is a parent send, and receives from the individual tracks / group tracks. I don't recall there being any possible loops.

Don't forget that folders are also routing audio. They are often the culprit. Not sure what the problem your having is though. In that file I can send the noise track to any of your fx tracks and it works fine. I've had problems with NI plugins in the past and have had to set them all to run in dedicated processes. Could help you maybe. Right-click in the fx browser>run as if you're not sure what I mean.
EDIT: I did happen to notice that track 61 is sending to and receiving from track 60. that's a feedback loop. Reaper sends MIDI and audio down the same "pipe" so even if you're sending only MIDI and receiving only audio, it will still be seen as a feedback loop.

Ahhh, I've found the midi / audio combo mapping to be a little tedious / confusing.
I love the folder routing though.
Thanks, I'll check on 60/61. Didn't realize that.
Actually...I've had trouble trying to setup my VSTi's manually - I use the "set up inst on new track" now, but if I forget, it's a pain trying to manage midi & audio on the same track.
Could this be why I got no sound? I load Kontakt on a track, then have 16 "Midi" channels to send to it, but if I try to get the 16 MIDI channels to ALSO receive audio back...Reaper mutes it as a loop?

Yes it does (a relaxation in this scenario has been a long-time request).
You can allow feedback routing in Project Settings / Advanced but double-check for any audio feedback loops. Also, PDC will be out of whack.

Yea, I always wanted it to work like that too. Unfortunately you'll have to double your tracks to get around the feedback look problem. You can put the MIDI tracks in the Kontakt folder to route the MIDI to the VSTi and then right click Kontakt and select "build multi-channel routing." That will create your audio send tracks. You can hide tracks you don't want to see and use Track View Screensets or SWS Snapshots to recall different visibility configurations if the extra tracks are bothering you.

I've used the track manager; it's brilliant!
How do you setup different view configs? In cubase I know I could just hit "new screenset", and then use numpad to switch between. It controlled pretty much all the windows, so it was handy!
Is Reaper similar? Where do I start?

oh, I just found the Reaper screensets window on CTRL+E, where I normally "Export"...Fixed that!
Now...I see I have 3 screensets to use (for starters); f7, f8, f9, with +ctrl to save.
Does that save mixer re-sizes, arrange sizes, automation lane views, etc? Any limits to what a screenset does?
Thanks!
