Jason,
Really liked this. Very good mix and the song is really excellent.
The video quality was also A1.
Incidentally, I also love Colourblind, one of my favourite songs.
All the best,
Sambo Rouge

This is a very good song, Jason.
I find that the vocals feel a little pushed back in the mix. From my limited experience, this can be the result of recording, compression or ambience/reverb. Not sure what is causing it in this case. They are very clear and coming through nicely, but I think they would benefit from being a little more up front (or the instruments pushed back with the vocs of course).
That is minor though, and perhaps you wanted the vocals to sit like that, in which case, never mind .
This is an excellent mix.

Very nice
Great performance and a beautiful voice, I wish I could sing like that. I could listen to a whole album if you have more songs
Only thing for me is the Acoustic guitar is just a bit too woody. I'm thinking you mean it to be and I understand that entirely, but it's not stting quite right for me.
don't take it the wrong way but the acoustic sounds like it were for another arrangement. It's very earthy, but isn't sitting very well amongst the other instruments. I think you should make up your mind up about how you want it to come across. At the moment it's like two different sessions mixed together
Fine stuff though

AWESOME !! you sing with such sincere emotion in your voice, thats what really sells a song for me.
Another plus is this song really holds it own is this stripped back state, very cool, and something you guys should be proud of.
Cheers

Ace! Loved it!
Totally enjoyed the vid.
Only one moan: boxy acoustic sound in the intro - I'm guessing it was an artistic decision. I understand it, but, to be honest, I just don't like it. Would have preferred a sparkly sound in that bit.
Otherwise the mix sits beautifully.
No wonder you're really plased mate, I'd be overchuffed with it!

thanks everyone.. yeah the intro guitar sound was an artsitic decision I took out a load of bottom end on guitar and tambourine and added a bit of 'crackle' the other dude in the video didn't much like what i did with the intro either!! hahah :/
Not sure if I could fit a double bass in my room!!
Thanks again,
My local BBC radio station (Norfolk) just asked us on to play the song live, bit scared :/

the point
Nice arrangement because the point is the vocal. The guitars and percussion are at the same time simple and interesting, but mostly they are constrained to SERVE the vocal. Another thought while listening was that the whole was engineered brilliantly to stay together, while wandering up and down in dynamics. Without abrupt breaks, the dramatic arc is demanding and cool and all in the same story. Thanks.
