Have a look here on the Cakewalk/Sonar forum where this problem is discussed (4th post down by Jeffa 1169). You have to get a file called "shell2vst.exe"
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=...e=1&print=true
Hope this helps

Ah sorry, I hadn't noticed that it was an old post.
Did you see this newer one on the Reaper forum? http://forum.cockos.com/archive/index.php/t-81589.html

Hi there I run 2 windows os on my machine ( dualboot), and laptop too
Windows XP pro SP2 for the audio work
Windows 7 64 bit ( Lited Edition with all the fat out) ( mostly video editing but some audio work)
I have waves 9 installed on both systems without a problem
It is true some daws you have to change the waveshell into individual DLL's with the shell to VST program included int the waves directory
My interface is an Edirol Fa101 10x10

No problems here and I'm running all except 1 in x64 (WUP ran out on one a few days before I updated, grrrr)
I did have to do a clear cache and rescan because the older V8s still showed, and rather annoyingly the x86 and x64 versions showed up with the same name, so there was some renaming done.

Yes, that was annoying.
A good thing in Reaper would be to give a certain suffix name to each path scanned or something like that. If under program files(x86) a certain suffix or similar.
Path contains ____ Plugin name suffix ___
I had no problems with Waves v9 yet(x64 also). Waves Tune even is working just fine even though rewire states no connection.

Just being able to tell x64 from x86 and load the correct version.
That's all I meant to solve.
But if loaded both with the same name and freeze, I guess that doesn't solve your main issue.
Sorry not being able to help.

I also had an issue with the V9 installer. I ended up having to clean out old registry files, and make sure that the newly created waves folder was the only one on my machine.
There are some GUI glitch issues though (redraw issues), and Reaper won't save/recall any new user presets I create. I've read that Waves is working on an update that should correct the redraw problems.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but I could use some help.
I'm runnng Reaper 64bit in Windows 7, and I've never had Waves plugins before, but I downloaded the demo for H-EQ as well as Waves 9.2 and the license manager. I put the 32-bit Waves shell in a separate directory from the 64-bit shell.
I first had Reaper only scanning the 64-bit directory, where it picks up all other plugs from other companies, but the Waves plugin goes undetected.
But then I had Reaper scan the 32-bit directory and it picked it up fine, though with a lot of stuttering bridging issues when loading it. Any thoughts?
Thanks
