WDL or WDL-OL and LADSPA/LV2

Hi!

Does anyone know about a work (or an intend to do such a work) on WDL (or WDL-OL) in order to add LADSPA or LV2 support to this framework?

I will be attending the Linux Audio Conference (LAC 2017) in a few weeks:

and I intended to propose what they call a "Speed Geeking" about the possibility of starting such a work.

I have a few plug-ins that I would put in the public domain for the occasion, and I'd like to know:

- is there people here that have some experience with LADSPA?
- is there people here that would participate to the work on such a port?
- is there people here interested to port their plug-ins to such a format when the port has been done?
- are they willing to release some of their plug-ins as open source, so that other could do the port?
- and by the way, is there a legal or technical reason that could prevent such a work?

Oh, I see... And I suspect, without any certainty of course, that there may be other people who are not interested in the subject either.

I would be willing to port any of my plugins to Linux, if possible. That would include my freebie plugins. I couldn't do open source, but I would be willing to do it.

Every now and then I get people that contact me regarding Linux versions of the plugins. I think it would be worthwhile, but I am not smart enough to even know where to begin with such an effort.

I don't believe there would be any conflict between the licensing that would prevent the work. Some of the examples within WDL-OL and Tale's version could serve as test plugins. They are more demonstrative than anything, but they include various controls and functionality.

Now, if I find at this conference Linux ADSPA developers who are willing to help, I will at least be able to say with honesty that other(s) user(s) of WDL are interested in this port :-)
