Is this supposed to create a new action for "Toggle pre-roll on record", because I now see two actions, one suffixed with "[deprecated duplicate]" and a different command ID?

No behavior was added or changed. Some action text descriptions got changed for consistency, and while doing that we noticed that two existing actions were literally duplicates of each other, so one of those got renamed "deprecated duplicate".

Nope. And it's really not worth mentioning -- an option originally added 10 years ago for Windows (lazy vs fast updates), which could probably be removed on Windows too, is pretty much entirely pointless on macOS, so it was removed.

5.34 gets released first without AI and HiDPI stuff, 5.40 will likely contain AI and HiDPI stuff. Separate branches.

No. It was just a joke . Devs do it very often. It is normal. When they want to improve some features, they release the next version, e.g. 5.21->5.22, not 5.30.

There is some strange behavior when Grid=1 or longer: Paint straight line of notes - broken?
