What's the best/most elegant way to convert note on/off to CC 0/127 toggle?

I need to turn on/off an external HW module that uses the CC switch method of 0=off, 127=on.

I can set the CC to be whatever I want.

The controller I need to use won't send CC... Only Notes.

So I need to convert a note on/off to CC on off

So it woudl work like this:

For example

Send Note 60 on/off : Convert to CC 20 value=0
Send Note X on/off : Convert to CC 20 value=127

I've rigged up something using a few of Piz's midi thing, but it a kludge.

It seems like a pretty common thing to need to do, so I figure someone must have a decently elegant solution, or a JS I have not found yet.

2) Thanks anyway! I'd prefer to just use one note so that it toggles, but I may be able to hack this a bit to do that.

It's odd there's nothing like this in active use as it seems like such a common thing to need to do, especially with HW...?
