Well... I guess you are right that there are already stuff inside Reaper that is not useful to all users, and I understand that this particular feature would be good for you. I wasn't really against it, if the devs implement it wont be of any use to me (at the moment) but as long as it is not in the way of other stuff that is useful to me, fine...
However, I sometimes use Waveosaur to do things that would maybe, just maybe, gain me some time or whatever if I could do directly in Reaper, but I think it works fine, just double-click and edit... It's almost as if it was directly implemented in Reaper, and so I'm fine.
So, what I was after was your specific idea and reason of why Audacity as external editor does not work for you. Are you thinking real-time showing of the sonograms?
OH.. BTW, Spectro shows you sonogram, doesn't it?
