Anyone want to solo over this?
Just came up on this and if you feel bored, give it a listen
I have no fluidity in my soloing and so ... help me Stoner-Wan Kenobi,
you're my only hope

I can probably do something, but it's not very long is it?, Do you have more to add to it like a middle section then maybe double it up. What tempo is it so I can leave a space and repeat it.

I put it in reaper, it's actually really easy to loop, was that intentional? I guess the beat was a loop right?
Anyway I added some bass and looped it, I'm just noodling over it right now, when I get some decent "licks" together I will mash them together and post it later today.

actually this came at a really good time - i bought an agile les paul last month and haven't played it at all, but this is a perfect song to break it in with and try to see what sound I can get out of it into the computer.

blues scale version
wow, this came out kind of huge, 7mb.
i did it twice, this one is basically just random noodling on the blues scale. the other is noodling in the major scale with a little recurring thing that makes it try to sound like an actual song. the other one's a little better I think but I'll post it later.
here is the blues noodle doodle

Here's one from me then, played in a style I call country blues, sometimes with a hint of jazz but I don't think there's much jazz in this noodle.
The guitar is a nearly clean strat pushing Guitar rig just into distortion, with a lot of delay and reverb.
Oh, and I put a bass on it as well but I don't know how to play bass properly - enjoy.

Nice playing ted! Certainly less sloppy than my noodling. I'm going to use the excuse that I'm not used to that guitar with high action and thick strings. My strat sounded too tinny for this though.
I really liked the tone, what kind of strat/pickups were you using?

It's this one here Tantamo, not a real Strat at all. It has the two original Korean G&L alnico pups, plus a Seymore Duncan Little Jeff Beck in the bridge pos. I prefer the neck/middle config for most things as it's quite warm with a bit of bite.
BTW I changed the file, it's a trifle more bluesy now.

I think I like it a little better.
I play mostly clean stuff usually so I almost always use the neck/mid or just the neck too.
I keep hearing g&l are better than actual strats now. I don't think real strats are necessary, but something about non-official strat headstocks just bother me (like I can't stand that G&L shape, it's too weird). I've had plenty of no-name strats like hondos that played/sounded as good as expensive strats I've had though.

Wow guys, these both sound great, I would consider selling my nuts to play like either of you hehe. It is definitely neat how to hear a song change unexpectedly in a different direction ...
Ted, I am speechless, seconds 38-57 are exactly what I need. I am still listening to the bass starting at 58 too as the whole song seems to shift tonality-wise and a whole new groove seems to come in.
I have been working at it, no major changes but added a bass and made it longer.
BPM 102 12/4
