GIGAWATT-Pandora (5th track from new album streaming now!)
5th track! whew!
Same stuff as before.
Featuring Scott LePage doin the solo thing again and its very tasty! (He's also the voice of "Tower 1")
Basically our conversation was as such:
Me: "Hey Scott, can you do some chicken pickin' over this weird riff in the middle?"
Scott: "I can't really do that stuff but I'll give it a go."
(Days pass)
Scott: "How's this?"
Me: "Sonuvabitch nailed it."
All in all though this is probably my least favorite track on the album but my favorite Shemp solo by far.
I almost didn't put it on the album as its such a different type of song compared to the rest... but its still in the same "theme".
Enjoy!
www.reverbnation.com/gigawatt
lyrics:
An unopened door
Containing a broadsword of sentient
Releasing the latch
Brings forth the destruction of intellect
A paramount of
Gigantic infusions
Containing a death for the visitor
A horde of locusts
That feast on mankinds own ignorance
I have become one of them
And now you hand over control
A simple message of warning reads:
Do not return
DO NOT RETURN
We've taken it too far for us to turn back now
The damage is irreversible
the sky is my pillow now
The detritus we leave behind all but fades away
And still we seek to explore the galaxy
The earth is my widow now
(wickedly awesome guitar solo)
The warning remains unheeded as we climb into the infinite
The sky is our pillow now
A story of flying to close to the sun unfolds... As it was told before
The earth is our cradle now.

Wow! My hat is off! This is what being original is all about. I love it when an artist doesn't abide by rules. I was told recently that there are distinct lines drawn between types of metal music... Bullstein!!! is what I say! I'm old school...what's good is good. Great job!!

I'm with carbon on this, likely my favourite so far!
I'm reading 'chicken pickin' as I'm listening thinking 'WTF
is he on?', then it hits the solo...genius, works perfectly!
Scott- very cool solo, great work. Ya know, the real money is in Country....
just sayin'
Production is top notch on all these tracks. Sets the bar pretty high for
the rest of us.

Thank you M.
Maybe play this for your friend and ask what kind of metal this is?

I had know way of conveying to Scott what was in my head but, he gets me so... he knows whats in it.
Thanks for the production comment. All i use is freeware and very meager instruments, pc, mics and interface. That comment makes me feel... dare I say, professional?

Least favourite? Come on, every album needs a "ballad" :-)
OMG, and Steve is actually singing. I love it. And, yes, like ScottyD said, me too I can hear some Patton.
Scott, you're available for chicken picking lessons?

Cr*p. I tried to leave a comment on your site, but it got to complicated... As a mere folk singer with an acoustic, you'll understand this is not my genre... still I say this is very pro. You deserve an audience. It could happen.
And for some reason I was thinking about Major Tom.

Yeah I hate my singing
The patton emulation is unavoidable. Any time I hear a melody in my head for vocals it automatically goes into that mode.
And thank you sir!

Steve, I can't believe this is your least favourite song on the album! It's my favourite now. LOL. Each song I hear becomes my new favourite. This one brings the crazy just at the right moment. I listened to everything through again up to this point, and it couldn't be more perfect. This is like... Zappashuggah.
This is just so creative and more than any of the other tracks so far, just sucks me in and steals all my focus from anything else going on around me.
Dude, I gotta have flacs or wavs of these tunes when you're finished releasing all of them. Please....

"Temporal Causality": the tune's got some great synth spots. pretty damned good mix too.
still liking those lyrics on Pandora. the vocals were a surprise on that one too. catchy melodies and breaks. gotta agree with Kevin that this one's my fav.
