Mouse Behavior: Marquee select items and time AND TRACKS?

Mouse Behavior> Track > Left Drag > Default Action > Marquee select items and time AND TRACKS.

Left click and drag selects all tracks within the selection marquee. IE if I click and drag the mouse over track lanes 4,5,6 those tracks all get selected, even if no items were selected.

This seems like something someone has done. Can one of you fine people point me in the right direction?

If not, I'm somewhat script capable - and started thinking along the lines of rapid firing a 'add track under mouse to selection' call as I left click and drag... is that a good approach? Anyone know of similar scripts?

You can't assign custom action to left drag in mouse modifiers.

Thanks Outboarder. Hmm. That script looks nice - but as you say, it looks like you can't assign it to the left drag... does that mean this functionality is impossible?
