Default Imitone - new voice to MIDI tool in development

Currently doing a Kickstarter campaign.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...mind-to-melody

Standalone goal is reached, VST version would take a few more $.

I'm currently very tempted to support it, as it looks quite cool imo.

Spotted via KVR thread:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewto...p?f=1&t=408173

(I'm not involved in any way)

cool... can be used to train the voice too
This seems more elaborated and optimized than Cockos ReaTune with the option "Send MIDI events when pitch changes".

I just can't wait to put my hands (so to speak) in this piece of software. The minute I saw the video, I ran to the kickstarter to help. If Imitone works, this could save me hours in each project, since I can't play an instrument and it's all drawing the notes with the mouse in the piano roll.

Default voice to midi

In between Jam Origin midi guitar and Melodyne(included in Studio one) I already use voice to midi. Great tools to have but not exactly a replacement for skill on an instrument...

Same here, hangs on loading (I use the standalone, the VST version isn't out yet I think).

I contacted the dev, he said there are more people experiencing this and he'll send out a debug version shortly.
I'd suggest contact him also.

Just so this thread doesn't go under with a negative light on imitone...

My startup problem is solved now thanks to the dev's bug hunting.

It was a conflict between imitone's anti-aliasing and my graphics card anti-aliasing which were enabled at the same time and so caused a conflict.

Hi guys, what are your impressions of imitone? I'm about ready to plop down my $25 to find out. I'm just wondering if you think it is as evolutionary as it's supposed to be. Do you have any tests? I would be very interested in hearing from you. Thanks.

Wellllll.

After watching the videos last week, I couldn't fight the urge anymore so I bought it a few minutes ago. Hopefully I'll have a chance to give it a try later tonight.

If I can manage to get the expression and nuances like the guy doing the Kontakt Cello on youtube I'll be more than happy. I've been hearing full orchestrations being written inside of my mind for as long as I can remember. This may be what I need to compose them finally. I just can't get a good feel from a midi controller when the mood strikes.

I'll definately report back on this one. Between this software and the Fishman Triple Play on my old strat...

I need to quit my job.

I'm imagining the live uses, too.

I've always loved Glitch hop music but I don't like the kind of clubs that play electronic music in general, it's so focused on the fucking-yourself-up and not the music, which is played by a computer and some guy pressing an auto-crossfade button with/without a cool LED headdress.

This software could make live and improvised melodic glitch hop a thing by giving the player their hands back. A pressure controller in the mouth, and two pressure controllers in the hands would give a world of modulation possibilities, all while just singing which is so much more accessible and nuanced than playing a synth keyboard, except the obvious downside of monophony of course.
