Default macos - reaper - daw controllers

Hi all!

I tried to search google and this forum but did found mixed information. These is many threads about this matter but mostly windows realated.

I use macbook and Imac with reaper and need daw controller. Icon Qcon pro and Behringer X-touch looks fine to me (maybe there is better ones but they costs to much). I read that both can work with reaper using Klinke's MCU integration, but that is not available for macos.

So does anyone used these machines in with reaper on macos? Does all the important function work?

Many thanks!

X-Touch can do HUI and MCU protocols, both of which are natively supported by Reaper.

Also, if you have an iOS or Android device, the TouchOSC app might be the best way to spend $5..

Thanks. I´m looking for a unit with motorized faders.

I know that those both should work, but I searched a lot and seems that many have had problems with these DAW controllers with reaper. Everyone recommend Klinkes plugin, but since it is not available for macos...

Definitely not necessary, and apparently a bad choice in some cases: http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...7&postcount=11

But before you bother with that, touchosc is totally worth playing with.. even works on ios and android phones, doesn't need to be tablets. Same benefit you get with motorized faders without the cost.

I actually use that and it helps a lot, though it is not always working reliable but still very usable. I was also thinking of big touch screen, but I don´t know... I like "real" faders and knobs so much more than a computer screen.

Hi,
While its true no klinke for Mac...unless someone ports it...
Bringing up one users case that smells of user error..well.
Klinkes is awesome. I use it all the time.
To the op..if it were me..I'd run in PC mode or boot camp..whatever its called in Mac.

Yes, the link/comment from willvincent is really strange, because when you check the complete thread you can see that BoogieBear has fixed his problems and stated:

"The issues I have been struggling with are all down to the USB drivers for the various devices and the fact that in native form they all appear to be named 'USB Audio Device'"

And to be more on-topic: Geoff Waddington has wrote a Mackie Control extension that exist also for Mac OS:
