Reaper and MP4s
I thought I used to be able to bring in MP4s but now I get a "Failed to load ffmpeg.dll" error message. I put a copy of that dll in the W7 system32 folder but still no luck opening MP4 media. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion Whiteaxxxe but no luck. No problem playing WMV or AVIs.

I do a lot of writing with my iphone voice memo app. I just convert all mp4's into mp3's through iTunes and import them to Reaper. Works everytime.

Yes thanks. Am running the x64 version. Maybe that has something to do with the problem?

Apparently, it does.
I am able to import mp4 to Reaper x32 with no problem. Reaper x64 shows an error message.... 'Could not import 1 of 1 items!' No reason is given.

Cool. Thanks. I'll install the 32 bit version later today and retry.

I'm just gonna guess - you need a 64-bit version of ffmpeg.dll ?

I couldn't find a 64-bit version on the web nor any version of it in my system32 directory. So I installed one but it didn't solve the problem.
No matter, I'll just use the 32-bit version of Windows when I want to insert an mp4.

Apparently this is still an issue. Is there a fix? Dont Want too have to keep the 32 bit version of Reaper installed just for this...
Actually I cant get this to work in the 32 bit version of Reaper either. It just wont import an .m4a file regardless.

Sorry to go necromancer on this thread, but I'm seeing the same issue now. Running win 10, x64 REAPER (not at my desk now, but think it's version 5.9.4 or so), and have the ffmpeg.dll in the REAPER plugins folder. Anyone have a clue how to resolve this?
