Default I need a title and I need opinions...

Here is a rough mix of a song I recorded today. I did it with a couple friends of mine for background music for a photography website my brother is putting together.

This song was really fun to make! I did a rough mix, but I'm looking for opinions before I do more.

happy jack.mp3 - 7.33MB

Thanks for listening!

Beware of nasty ads!

Arti,

Really nice tune. Definitely something I'd listen to. My only thoughts on improvements would be that the fiddle sounded a bit too busy a time or two, and you could tighten up on the timing here and there. Otherwise, it's a fun ride!

"Celtic Breeze"

I liked it a lot, pretty much same comments as above. I wanted the guitar to go off beat a little more, get a little funky sometimes. Shrug. Love the fiddle work

Might wanna put a little disclaimer on there letting us know that the ads on that page aren't quite SFW.

The song is quite interesting. Love all the different instruments. Kind of reminds me of something you might here in a tavern a few hundred years ago. Very warm and inviting.

EDIT: and what's wrong with "Happy Jack"?

Oh, very sorry about ads. I forgot to write in the disclaimer.

Recording this was pretty fun. WE started out by coming up with a basic structure for the song. Then we recorded violin, 12 string and 6 string guitar live. We actually ended up keeping the first take of that. WE overdubbed the dulcimer, and then did percussion live together. Again, alot of 1st and 2nd takes as we didn't have alot of time, so not everything is as tight as it could be.

Happy Jack was just a working title I threw on there, as the violin kinda reminded me of "**** O'Riley" by The Who.

I've been debating whether or not to ad bass guitar and/or some electric or piano solos at some points. Any thoughts?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but you might want to look into Privoxy. I installed it because Google Chrome didn't have a built in ad blocker, and the default configuration for Privoxy blocks most ads.

Fun song!
