Default Fast Track C600 at 96 kHz?

I don't know if anyone might be able to help me, but I can't change the sample rate of my Fast Track C600. In theory, if Reaper is closed I should be able to change it but the dropdown is greyed out

Manual: http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/CETAAUDIO/manuals/c600.pdf

I'm asking this here because I didn't want to pay 13 euros to purchase an Avid Support Code. Like, come on Avid -.-"

are you on mac or windows?
do you have some digital interface connected to the C600 (via spdif)? Or maybe is it set as default audio device the whole system?
If you can't change the sample rate is because there's something else that is locking it.
Anyway, you can set reaper to overwrite those settings and set the new sample rate within the project (or reaper itself if you want to change it globally)

ps. prima regola del fight club: "stai lontano da qualsiasi cosa riconduca ad avid, avid è il male"

I'm on Windows 10. Yes, something must be preventing me from changing the sample rate. I tried both to change the playback and recording soundcard and to override the settings from the Reaper's audio device panel, but nothing seemed to work.

P.S Lo so, ma l'ho presa quasi 2 anni fa e queste cose non le sapevo ancora xD

oh, W10..do you have the latest drivers? they support W10?
the latest drivers for W10, based on the site, was released in 2014 when W10 was new...maybe some W10 update did the mess..
can you try the interface with another OS?

W10 should be supported, because the latest driver says to be compatible with it...

No, I can only test it on this OS

yes, they say so but it's about the 2014 version of W10...If you can make a virtual machine on an external drive with an old version of W10 you can make the test very quickly.
I'm on OSX, I can't really help you on windows, sorry

I can only try to do it in May, because at the moment I'm in the UK and I need the cd-rom to install the control program thing, which is in Switzerland

Windoze manages your audio stream before it hits your interface it seems.
Right click on speaker icon>goto recording devices>choose interface>properties>advanced> set sample rates there.
Same for playback devices- it depends wether anything is the default communications device,or has any of the exclusive modes checked therein.
Perhaps..

I've already tried to do it. I set the playback and recording soundcards to the Windows default one, but nothing happened. Furthermore, Windows doesn't let me choose higher sample rates than 44.1

Aye-I kinda had same issue a while back- I could only change my interface samplerate if I muted the playback 1st-in the windoze speaker playback.

are you using native drivers right? did you try with A4A? for waht i can remember of my windows days, from the A4A you should be able to disable (yey! word pun!) the integrated soundcard and then choose the SR for the C600.
I'm still on my idea about some stupid conflict between some W10 update and "old" C600 drivers

I'm using the Fast Track C600 native driver, but here's a problem... 2 weeks ago I was messing around in the A4A panel and as soon as I chose my soundcard it just hangs for minutes and the only way to keep working is to close it from the task manager.

I did it guys!!! I had to completely disable the fast track from the windows audio panel

Now I've re-enabled my soundcard from the audio device panel and the program lets me change the sample rates withouth any problem :/

good! probably there was something pointing to the C600 and it was preventing you to change anything...once you had disable it you "had reset" everything!
