I must say I'm really missing a dividing line between tracks themselves on these screenshots (between meters and volume sliders). FX/send section has them, why not the rest of the track? Seems inconsistent.

Gorgeous theme. Can you make colored fader option, have you got a plan ? It would be nice and useful I think.

I dunno, it kind of cramps things a bit with divider lines. I like the more open approach I have going on. It's pretty obvious once in use which tracks are which and it feels more cohesive.
But here's an example of it with dividers:

I prefer the open fader section, but if track divider lines were used here, I think the lines would need to be more subtle or implied in order to retain that open feel.
I've attached an example.
That said, I think you've done nice work here.
I look forward to seeing the finished version.

FWIW: I like the open approach, too...
If I'm not using a lot of tracks I prefer to remove the outlines between tracks for a cleaner look. I have versions of my themes with no lines for my personal use. The first thing I did when I first started tweaking the default V5 theme was to remove all of the background lines that I could...
But, if there were many tracks it could get confusing and people want to see what they're used to seeing...
It's your theme. Keep up the good work! You have garnered a lot of interest B)

Looking great! The open look is growing on me. I think it would actually be of more benefit on large track counts as there will be less visual clutter and because the rest of the channel strip separated clearly enough to tell which track is which. Excited to try it out!

Mmmm I love white face. Thumbs up here. This is really turning out great! I would love an option to have gold faders as well.

Also on track 3 in this photo, are those big send knobs? I like it if they are. And do they appear depending on the size of the track or a certain track layout?

Those are the FX Parameter knobs, not big send knobs

Yeah those are FX parameter knobs. But it's possible to have bigger send knobs depending on the line height settings so I might play around with them. I find small send knobs kind of difficult to set accurate levels with. Leave it with me...
As regards faders, I didn't have a plan to have different fader colours beyond those you see, but the elements are very simple so adding further colours would be easy. But the possibility of fader colours is endless! Plus, depending on which layout they appear on, it could add lots of lines of code. But if it was just on the default channel layouts it can be done very easily.
I have to say, I prefer the open fader plate design because, as said, it reduces unnecessary clutter. It does work much better with high track counts, but I also work a very particular way, using groups and separators to organise channels together. And it works really nicely that way too. One of the aims of this theme was to cut down on unnecessary stuff that ends up being tiring on the eyes. That said, what lucas_LCS mocked up with the lighter dividing lines between faders looks quite nice so I might implement that.

Cool! Hehe these are just my minor nit picks. I know nothing about code so I have no reference for what can be done or the amount of work it takes. As for the large sends, if it degrades the theme at all for sure ditch it. And The only reason I said gold is it would definitely pop on the white face layout
I am a huge fan of the universal themes. And this is starting to look better! Now I'll painfully watch in silence! Do your thing

I reckon the open design is staying. It is easy to modify for any folks who wanted to anyway.
Can any WALTER nerds help me in this? Is it possible to have a variable control the meter.vu.div setting? Let's say I want this:
set mcp.meter.vu.div h>=790 [13 0] [2 0]
What's currently happening is it's jumping right to the second variable ([2 0]) and ignoring the first. Am I missing something?

Automation mode buttons are hard to tell apart. It has to be pretty obvious that something other than the Trim/Read mode is active.
The Cubase-like themes like Eyssina or the automation buttons of Protools may not be for everyone, but the tell me what automation is active in an obvious way.
I like this theme. Clean stuff.

Wow, great work! I really like where this is heading, and heartily approve of the notion of openness in the design. Looking forward to taking this clean puppy for a test drive.

Dividers look good and fairly unobtrusive and manages to still maintain the open nature of the theme.

The problem with the dividers is that they look ok with the full height track, but given the resizeability of the tracks and the repositioning of the meters, things start to look cluttered. Plus, things look very different in screenshots compared to iin context. I've added dividers on the meters though which looks good.
I reckon I'll be going divider-less on this, but it's an easy edit should anyone want to do it. I might even provide both image files and users can rename based on what they want displayed.
EDIT: Hmmm... Playing around Idon't know which version I prefer, dividers or no. I might make two versions one with, one without. It's just one image file anyway, so it's super easy to do.

Just small changes on the main channel layout (phase buttons) but I'm working on other elements at the moment.
I'm putting this out to the folks on here. How about grey pan/width knobs instead of the original black (divider lovers, ignore the lack of divider lines, they'll be available on the finished product )?

Looks great but I can see these changes taking away from the original essence. Your original was best with just that contrast tweak was all it needed!!!! However still look forward to your release.

Nice. This is nice for eyes. Not making eyes tired. Very delicate color balance and sharpness.

I think it's nearly a necessity on a flat theme.

It's coming along. In order to have the elements look their best it was necessary to add some subtle 3D-ness. I think a totally flat theme would be cooler but it would require a total reworking. Still, it's low enough contrast and really nice to use for long periods - no more eye strain!! Lots of work still to do...

Looks good! I like what you did to the faders & buttons to give them some subtle depth without being distracting... A nice compromise that looks more slick / finished!

The line separating the tracks looks perfect to me, too! Just enough but not too much...
