Default DiscoDSP: what happened to them? Website closed

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what happened to DiscoDSP?
Their website seems to be down/ closed.

I was looking for the amazing Bliss sampler plugin and then came across a blank page website (message showing 'temporarily closed'):

https://www.discodsp.com

On the kvraudio.com website there's a topic about this as well (since April, the 19th), with users complaining they don't get any respons when emailing them:

https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewt...f=276&t=483374

Anyone knows what's going on?

At least they could send an email to their loyal users to explain what's going on.

DiscoDSP's arsenal of plugins would be very welcome as a part of Reaper, especially it's impressive easy to use sampler:

Maybe Justin should talk with them, buy them out and rewrite the code :-)

a real tragedy. Bliss had terrific features, but was left in an unfinished state. half of the loop modes don't even work properly.

And the free OB-Xd synth has gone missing. Sad.

Thanks for the link!

For anyone who's interested, Daniel Stawczyk (Status) released a free bank for OB-Xd with 128 presets in it.

Here's a quick video: https://youtu.be/Gq8imZVmq3w

And the download link: http://www.stawczyk.com/stamina.php

Discovery Pro (Nord Lead emulation) was also a great synth.

Hmm...maybe Clavia bought them out?

Hello everyone, as you may already know I'm George Reales main discoDSP engineer.

I found this thread due to the query string "discodsp forum" on Google, so I'd like to clarify the situation regarding the temporary website closed. discoDSP was founded on 2002 and since then it has been running non-stop. This means even on small vacations, I had been working on it practically 24/7.

However due to very hard to overcome personal issues in 2016, I got life threatening problems the year later. I really didn't want to temporarily close the website but based on a medical judgement and family advices it had to be done.

Fortunately the temporary closing only lasted a few months. My recovery was quicker than expected and I was very happy to keep working on discoDSP again. I have to apology about the abrupt service interruption but please consider it was a critical situation.

Hope you empathise the circumstances happened and consider the business was just a few months down after 15 years. I hope we can do a 20 years celebration soon OB-Xd for IOS 1.0.4 is being worked on right now. A desktop update may follow up soon. Discovery Pro and Bliss updates are on the Q3-Q4 pipeline.

Thank you for getting the time reading this.

So what? I invested hundreds of dollars to make it better, porting it properly to macOS, Linux and Windows with signed installers. Plus the new GUI and skinning system has been designed by myself personally. Anyways, haters gonna hate.

Hi George, I like your creations. No offense but I think what ED wanted to say was only just a clarification to Dr Bob's "OBXD is still one of my favourite VST emulations!" statement. No hate please.

Anyway, I am glad you are fine already.

I'd love the frequency knobs in OBXD to snap to semitones (or at least octaves). Right now it is a bit difficult to tune it.

And btw regarding Bliss, still would love to see some of the features I suggested in this KVR thread integrated in a future Bliss update: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewt...f=276&t=515323
- specially a fix for the pitchwheel bug

Keep up the great work and hope you are and will stay well!
