[5.40] Adding a parent track lowers the level
-set a Pan law/mode to any, but 0dB, value (for example -3dB)
-create a track and import an audio file with a waveform at some arbitrary level (for instance -10dB)
-create one more track and make it parent to the track with the audio file
-press Playback and look at tracks meters
You'll notice that the child track level is at -13dB (no questions here), but the parent one's is at -16dB. If, the Pan law is -4dB, then the levels would be -14 and -18dB, accordingly.
-add one more track and make it parent to the first parent track.
-press Playback and look at track meters
The second parent track has even lower level: -19dB (at pan law -3dB)
Thus, we can see that adding a parent track lowers the signals sent into it. See attachment.
