I believe it now gets cleared after deleting the track ... maybe not when clearing the envelope yet though.

Just noticed a performance issue. If you have lots and lots of items (have 8000 samples/files in one project) and you have spectrogram enabled BUT you're zoomed out too much to even see a spectrogram, REAPER slows down a lot.

that's what stretch markers are for... although I think Cockos should have allowed for a stretch marker mouse modifier where stretch markers are treated like envelope points... where you can move stretch markers horizontally and vertically simultaneously/freely like an envelope point. Currently you can only move in one axis at a time which makes it annoying to use. Also, you have to setup your mouse modifiers before you can even do that.

Question I see "REBUILD PEAKS FOR SPECTROGRAM AT THIS ZOOM LEVEL" do I have to maintain my zoom level (don't change it) until all peaks are finished building? If so, please fix this. You should be able to change your zoom level after starting the "rebuild peaks" action. If that was your intention, I think it's broken.
Edit: Wait, maybe this is not broken and I'm changing item channel modes... and spectrogram only builds for the current channel mode?

Yes- and they aren't conducive to doing musical rate bends. If I want to bend a sub bass down 6 semitones, I kinda have to fudge it using stretch markers. Ideally it would be an AI like any other parameter.

With the intention to make an AI for a touched Plugin parameter, (plugin is in Track FX Chain),
my workflow is currently this:
a) I touch a parameter from a plugin.
b) I run Action: FX: Show/hide track envelope for last touched FX parameter.
c) I run Action: Envelope: Insert automation item.
For faster workflow, wouldn't it be nice to have an Action:
"Insert automation item for last touched FX parameter" ?
Or is this maybe already possible ?

The problem with that is this:
When you run:
Action: FX: Show/hide track envelope for last touched FX parameter.
The envelope appears, but it isn't automatically selected.
Therefore, the following action:
Envelope: Insert automation item
will not work, cause it needs a selected envelope to work on.
In Preferences, you have a setting:
"when adding envelopes, set the focus to the envelope"
And "focus" stands for selected.
I have this setting checked.
Look at attachment for it's description.
Sadly enough reading that, this setting isn't valid for envelopes that are created
by the Action FX: Show/hide track envelope for last touched FX parameter.
Even more, for me, the setting "when adding envelopes, set the focus to the envelope" doesn't even work when i make an envelope visible in a Track's Envelopes dialogue window:
It makes an envelope visible but the envelope doesn't become selected after that, i must click on the envelope line to make it selected.
Grrrrrrr ...

I agree it's not ideal, I use them for this sort of thing too.
There should be a mode which locks all the markers together like envelope nodes. I'll start a post in the FR section.
It's not an AI thing though, because it has to change the length of the items, which doesn't make sense in the context of AI

Gluing automation items should (in theory) sum the same way as playback. The summing logic is different for different kinds of envelopes, and should be the same as what would happen if you applied two of the associated controls in sequence.
For volume, overlapping automation items behave the same way as two volume faders in sequence. If the second fader is at +0dBFS, the level is not affected; if the second fader is at -inf, the level will be zero regardless of what the first fader is set to.

Bug with the creation of AI (CTRL + left drag with the mouse) and with the creation of the time selection (left drag with the mouse.
When I start the mouse drag near and to the right of a tempo/time signature marker, with the snapping set on enable, the time selection or automation item go wrong : they are not created exactly at the location where they should be created.

when you collect automation points (alt + drag), glue items etc.. automation items use default baseline value 0. What if you want to change baseline value without moving automation points? There is no way to do it..
Consider this option in AI properties: Don't move automation points when adjusting baseline value.
