Happiness is Reaper 3.1 with refined Takes system. It has good points, but for me it quickly becomes so unwieldy it's usable. I won't elaborate since many previous forum posts detail the problems & possible solutions quite nicely. This is a great recent one:

But yeah, no auto split rocks. I hate having 100 little slices at the ends of takes as I can't hit the space bar at the exact sample each time.

The post was originally to be the first to spill the beans on Beta 5 and the new + preview feature.
+ Preview REX at project tempo, show correct preview waveform
I afterwards decided to bow out and let the regular town criers have first call instead. So I replaced the spilled beans with...
