Did you read my post just before? Click load, then navigate to the .fxb file

I've got the header message before, but only when trying to IMPORT .fxb presets using the (...) button next to the Preset dialogue (which is actually for .RPL files)

If you click on LOAD, which is to the right of the VST Program window up/down arrows, and then click on the .fxb file, and click open, it works fine here.

I use the three dot tab to the right and import preset.

There is no load button I can see.

You're on the row above it. Next one down, to the right of the VST program window...NOT the Preset window.

OK

Does your plugin say DDC (Digital Drum Compressor) which is JS...

or DVC (Digital Versatile Compressor) which is VST, and the one the presets are for...

No worries smasha, I did the same thing myself lately...that's how I figured it out

Anyway, it's worth the effort, low CPU and awesome.

You have to dowload it, it's not included in REAPER like the JS ones.

major bump...

Anyone who hasn't tried these plugs, take time! they rock... especially DVC.

Loser? Just a suggestion, but is the link in your first post up to date? Having the latest version there makes it easier to find them.

I'm used to have a GUI, this makes me uneasy about these plugins. And, GR-meter would be also nice.. I have tested these, but somehow I'm too familiar with GUI-style that it takes so much effort to make sense out of these plugs. I know its simple, but for a simple mind...

Yeah, meters would be nice. Let's just see how the open source thing turns out, maybe someone will make a GUI. I doubt it though

No but I just recompiled everything (even with some changes I hadn't intented to release, yet). The lookahead on the new DVC is now so much better, it unfortunatly consumes CPU like that :/ (Thats why I didn't want to release it yet, but I jsut want to give everyone the best quality I can )
Plus the attack and release speed get calculated different. Before they were calculated based on how long it will take a 0dBFS signal to drop to full reduction (or get back up in case of release speed) and now they'll follow some RT60 rule, i.e. the speed gets calculated on how long it takes to reduce the signal to -60dBFS. - Not an improvement you say? Here use DVCClassic [Link Removed] (Classic has the new lookahead, but not the attack/release changes, though I doubt anyone will hear a differnce).

Here is the "current" version Now at: http://loser.asseca.com/

// Goes update the OP

I'm with you Pipe.

How 'bout we get a paypal donation pool together & bribe grymmjack to do it?

He did an amazing job with the skins for the GVST Suite (which everyone should check out if they haven't already... useful, well thought out, low CPU etc).

Anyone...? Grymm...? Bueller...?

Terry's agreed to put a GUI on DVC. That's a great start! http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7450

New DVC Lite Version:
Now at: http://loser.asseca.com/

New DVC Master Version:
Now at: http://loser.asseca.com/
Which got selectable attack/release curve shapes:

It only changes the sound unnoticeable, but may help to bring some more characteristics into it.

EDIT: Before I forget, the (Soft-)knee setting seems to be broken, I'll look into that whenever I got time and feel like coding again.

Small Bump.

Now at: http://loser.asseca.com/

New features:
- Detector filter
- Envelope Detector (+adjustable smoother)
- Lotsa crazy __internal routing__ stuff in the DVC Master (A MUST HAVE SEEN, not so sure about the useability though)

Now we can start saying stuff like: "Wow this sounds good!" or "That is a _compressor_", etc...

Hope you like it.

Where are the presets for these?

VU in/out = +1!!!

And again the GUI-thing... Same thing for other Reaper-plugs, we need those GUIs. Some can live without, not me

I just started to imagine it with a GUI like this...
http://www.cockos.com/forum/showpost...84&postcount=1

I don't know which would be the bests : asking White Tie if he'd like to make a gui for this specific plugin, or wait that Reaper goes fully skinnable (with no-gui plugins wrapped in customized Reaper's deign)... wohohoh

I'm not so concerned about the actual GUI or GUI design, I could draw those pictures myself (at least I think), but to actually implement them in the code base, which should be easy with VST GUI though, but you know, it's just one of those things that take longer than my avarage 10 minutes attention span to be figured out, and aren't very interesting so my brain is already in this kind of self entertaining mode that it falls if stuff gets boring .

Loser, i totally understand your point of view (and i like it : doing things because you like it, and not bothering doing something if you're not that much into it).
From your side (audio development), the sound is the most important, and as you're the coding man, you're 300% right
But from my basic user point of view and GUI freak, a GUI is more than icing on the cake (it gives the plugin an identity, as i remember more easily the visual than the names...), and if, for the same features and sound quality you ask me between a nogui versin and a version made by White Tie, Grymmjack, a Reaktor designer or a Ext skin designer, i'd go for the second option in a minute

Glad you did DVS and shared it
Glad to read your take on coding
glad to read someone is up for designing it

cheers

I just downloaded mGUI from Asseca's site and while doing so have noticed that he has already skinned DVC - all three versions.

http://asseca.com/wiki/uploads/MGUI/dvc-as.exe

Hope this is not a repeat post as I haven't had time to read all preceeding posts.

Hope it helps someone!

Cheers

Thanks for mentioning this here. mGUI can be used as a VST-wrapper for any GUI-less plugin. So anyone can make his own Graphical Interface. It is possible to have several skins for a plugin ...
