Reaper can't find VST in some projects
Hi
I recently installed Win7 on my DAW. I also had to reinstall quite a few plugins. No problems so far. But today I reopened a project I had not touched since the reinstall, and even though the plugins used in the project have been reinstalled, Reaper can't find them.
It says that "their configuration has been preserve", but I don't know how to recover said configuration if I only load another instance of the plugin on the track, and delete the one that's now faulty.
Can anyone help? I did a rescan of the VST folder, it didn't change anything.
Thanks
DCMD

It seems it's a new reaper bug.
All my x86 plugs doesn't work on my reaper x64 when reaper is launched from task bar.
(windows 8.1 x64).
To solve the problem, i have given admin's rights to my reaper's link.

Thanks for your reply. I tried your solution but got no luck. Also I'm using Reaper 32b, if that makes a difference.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve the supposedly preserved configuration of the plugins?

I only know that it might be possible to edit the .rpp project file.
------------------------------------
But it would be much better to work out exactly why Reaper cannot find the plug-ins for your project.
So you have a "pre_install" project and after the re-install its plug-ins cannot be found? For that project:
-- do any plug-ins load OK?
-- where are all the plug-ins used in the project located on your disk?
-- are those locations the same as before the W7 install?
-- and what were you running before the W7 install?
-- which Reaper version, then and now?
-- have you changed from 322-bit to 64-bit plug-ins?

Effects are in projects but not available?
I see I'm not the only one with similar issues. Opening a file that was saved a few months ago, this is the message I get:
"The following effects were in the project file and are not available. REAPER will keep their configurations, but things may not sound as desired."
Track 7: VST: play_VST
Track 8: VST: play_VST
Track 9: VST: play_VST
Track 14: VST: play_VST"
However if I start a new project and assign an FX to the track, I can open Play and it will work. My Play version is up to date, as well as Reaper.
Anyone has been able to find a cause and solution?
Thanks!

So all your other plug-ins still load OK?

Yes, all my other plugins work... Only EastWest one isn't "available" although it's there, properly installed...
