Track Page/Bank control via MIDI?

I am configuring an APC40 to use with Reaper and was using midi learn to configure it. Is it possible to have the bank left/right buttons on the APC40 tell reaper to adjust the track numbers left or right by eight tracks so that the Pan, Fader, Record, Solo, and Mute controls control the correct track. So Fader one would control track one, and if you select the bank right button Fader one now controls track 9?

I found this, which seems to offer a workaround by using an external piece of software to convert MIDI from your device to OSC, for which Reaper already supports track banks:
