Hey Janne,
Thanks for your hard work! II is really great.
Been following and modding your themes for a while; usually just smalls changes based on how I use Reaper.
Do you mind if I share my current take on II?

BTW, after using Janne2016 II for a few days, if I had one whish, it would be a width-knob on the TCP. I always found it very useful and now I miss it.

Right click on the pan knob and select dual or stereo pan and it will appear.

I've been using a modified version of this theme (non tinted) for pretty much a year and I simply can't imagine going back to anything else. Thank you very much for making this. I'll probably share my version of it if I ever stop fiddling if you don't mind =]

Cheers

Great Theme! My default one for year now
I have small request - if possible can you include half-sized buttons support for the toolbars? I have quite alot of them and they dont display correctly.
Thank you for your hard work !

The default toolbar has to stay in default size unfortunatelly (too many incompatibility problems) But I can provide you with a smaller bg graphic for the custom ones you put in your toolbars. Youll have to manualy replace the toolbar_blank.png file in the theme file. Just tell me- the original size of a toolbar buton is 30x30 pixels. Would yu like 15x15 size?

Thank you! I managed to do it myself - it works fine now, if any problems arise - I will go back to the default one.

Great job on the theme !!!

Default enjoying it

I switched from BeatWing to this theme and am enjoying it with a few color modifications. I really like dark themes that use big sliders for volume and this one fits the bill!

Please keep up the good work.

Default Permission to share a mod of your skin

Hi

I am in a process of making a mod to your latest version of Janne2016II. I would like to share it with the community, if this will be ok with you.

To have an idea of what I am doing, see the attached picture:

This can be set in reapers preferences(its the Tint media item background part):

Hope this helps.

Very nice skin, very usefull fore small screens, like mine. Will you continue making updates for this skin? It would be nice if you could add an extra meter in the mixer panel, like the "session meter" of default skin of Reaper 5, and a small master panel.

The selection area is present in the transport in the same place as in the default theme- it gets hidden(deliberately written code) when transport width is at lower values to avoid clashing with rate controls.

If you wish to re-do this by yourself search for this line in rtconfig.txt(located in Janne2016II.ReaperThemeZip theme package itself which you can directly open with 7zip):

Remove the part highlighted with red that determines at which with element will disapear and resave the textfile:

*Hint- this part is at the bottom of the text file.

But I warn you removing the minimal width setting will make selection box clash with other transport buttons at smaller sizes.

hope this helps

Janne, thank you very much for this theme, I really love it. Tweaked the font size and track text alignment to left. Now it's perfect! Not sure if it's a coincidence, but I love the fact, that the folder tracks (which I assigned to track layout "Minimal") keep their names in the middle.Makes it very easy to distinguish between tracks and folders.

Glad you like it.
I use the center alignment for all layouts. But always feel free to customize it to your needs.

With that amount of track youre using in that screenshot I can believe it that helps If the folders look a bit different

Youll need to open the rtconfig.txt in the theme folder inside the ReaperThemeZip package. Here is a nice tutorial by WhiteTie on this topic:
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=172341

In there search for these two lines (Please note there are several mixer layouts and each one has this code):

set mcp.solo [Hp Vp Hs Vs a1 a2 a3 a4]
set mcp.mute [Hp Vp Hs Vs a1 a2 a3 a4]

Hp- horiz position
Vp- vertical position
Hs- horizontal size
Vs- vertical size

Exchange the squared bracket values of Vertical position (look at the screenshot)

Resave the txt file and repack the theme zip package.

Hope this helps

There are four files missing that you can copy from other themes:
meter_foldermute.png, meter_mute.png, meter_solodim.png, and meter_unsolo.png.

BTW, I love this theme, it's the only one I use. Thanks a lot Janne.

Hi. I like this theme.
I have a question though.
What do I have to do to change the "style" or "fashion" of selection?
Say, there's a considerably bright item with dark content (notes or waveform).
Now the item itself gets brighter when selected.
And I want the content to get brighter
and the item itself to get darker,
a sort of inversion.
Even if there's no content in the item
I'll still know (see) that it's selected thanks to its brighter borders.
And a follow-up question
How to control (change) the amount of added brightness (added by selecting the item and/or a track)
and the amount of item borders brightness?
Thanks.

Fo the item background there is item_bg_sel.png image in the theme folder.

For wavefoem color go to actions and search for Theme development: Show theme tweak/configuration window action. When the tweaker opens you can change the colors of the waveforms- Search for Media item peaks when selected section. Change the color to your liking and resave the theme.

Hope this helps

Hi Janne, I'm using your great Jane2016 II Light theme, and I want to change the color of the VU meters, so they show a blue/greenish gradient like in Cubase.

Can it be done? and how?

The theme editor ignores the colors I choose, so I guess I have to edit or delete something inside the reaperthemezip file.

Thanks.

You can edit the images in themes folder:

meter_strip_v.png for verticl VUs

meter_strip_h.png for horizontal VUs

hope this helps.

Hi Janne,
I'm still using this wonderful theme, it's my all time favorite.

I was wondering if it's possible to set a fixed height for the tracks in the mixer. I've seen some themes where the fader area has a fixed height, and I like that. What lines in rtconfig are involved in this matter? Let's say I want to have a fixed, non resizable height for the narrow layout in MCP.

I created a project template with a height I like but sometimes after loading old projects or track templates or projects that I didn't create, I end up having tracks of different sizes in the mixer. I know I can resize all at once with ctrl + drag, but I'd just love to have a fixed height and not have to worry about that.

Thanks.

Hey

Its possible to set the mixer stationary, however for this theme it would require to rewrite the position code for all of the mixer elements- they are set/designed to move together with the resizable insert/send area. Quite an amount of work.

In rtconfig you would have to look at the last four values for every element thats moving/resizing and also set the extmixer(the insert send area) not to autoresize. Also the position of every elemnt would have to be reset to fit the new positions.

Ive tried this(unsuccessfuly) with some of my early themes but reapers mixer logic is designed in such fashion that it works much better if its set to resize/autopopulate.

Regards J
