Recent FX lists - display order

In the FX Browser, the recently-used FX are listed in order of loading, most recent at the top.

In the right-click >> "Add FX" >> "Recently used" menu they are listed in alphabetical order (based on the full path name, for JS FX), within category.

Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, but neither is ideal. And the different display orders, make them both more difficult to use.

I would suggest:
(a) a consistent display order for both areas
(b) a selectable display order:

• in order of use, most recent-first
• in order of use, most recent-last
• in alphabetical order, of file name only (not path)
• in alphabetical order, of file name only (not path), within category (JS, VST, VSTi)
• in alphabetical order, of path/file name
• in alphabetical order, of path/file name, within category (JS, VST, VSTi)

This is heavily annoying. All "Recent" lists should be ordered by date/time, not alphabetically.


I'm sure this is an oversight on JCS' part.

Still annoying.

I get used to accessing the recent FX from the FX Browser where there are listed in order of "recentness"

Then I right-click an [FX] button or empty Mixer FX slot and grind to a halt while I scan the alphabetically-sorted list for the FX I want.

.. just spotted that this has changed - both lists are now in "date used" order, most recent at the top


Now, we need to get rid of those redundant sub-menu levels:
