Default AU DLSMusicDevice

Hi,

I'm new to Reaper, and new to these forums. I'm on imac and tried to use the Apple AUi DLSMusicService (virtual instrument).

I import midi files into reaper and click on FX to select a Virtual Instrument.

At the moment, all I have available under instruments in the FX menu is:
AUi: Apple: DSLMusicDevice
VSTi: ReaSamplOmatic5000 (cockos)
VSTi: ReaSynDr (cockos) (4 out)
VSTi: ReaSynth (cockos)

If I select AUi Apple, there is a predefined sound (probably setup by the MIDI file), it works but I cannot change the sound.

The sound bank is "Quick Time music synthesizer" highlighted in "grey" but it don't allow me to select a sound. How can I do ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

RockForest

Finally I resolved the problem using MIDI program change.
Thanks.

Yeah, that's how it works. It's basically a simplistic General MIDI device, but can load soundfont and DLS banks. For your amusement, bank change events work, too.

Some more info is here

I'm confused. Nothing unusual there..

I have all these DLS files from ACID Pro. How can I use them in Reaper?

Cheers!
